Team continues to play very well at home - but we'll see soon enough how well we do on the Road! Hopefully better than our 1-8 start! :o

Couple of recent trades made!

Firstly Second Helping has moved J. Bagwell & R. Clemens & a couple of extras to Iowa Iron Horse in exchange for Damon, Konerko & Penny.

Not certain if I'd have put Penny in Coors, but to each his own. Bagwell should do decently enough in Fenway, while Konerko could benefit from the air at Coors Field.

Meanwhile I just moved Batista to Midnight Express in exchange for Williams. A little risky on my part, as I've always been a Batista fan, but Williams should do better at Veterans Stadium than he did in Coors, and Batista certainly won't be harmed by the move.

I have now improved from .200 to .285 playing on the road! ;)

Just 6 more road games in the West before a 6 game homestand - and then another 9 game road trip. Ah well things can only improve on the road (I hope!). ;)

Well this certainly has been an up & down season - I continue to do very strongly at home, while struggling to win 1 of 3 on the road ... however my Win % on the road has gone from .200 to .285 to an amazing .296. ;)

Hey ArrylT,

Just thought I'd post a note in this room before the federal gov't officially classifies it as a personal blog :P

I'll post about my team later but I wanted to get your opinion on my newest 2007 team. I'm actually not worried about the pitching staff at only 28mil as there are only 2 or 3 over 31mil in my league. Plus the majority of my pitching staff (like 8/10) is on a team that is going to the playoff next week and should have 90 wins. Thanks in advance. --Alexx

Kile back in the pile

Postby ArtemusRex » Sat Jun 23, 2007 9:07 pm

Well I finally pulled the trigger on the move I've been dreading for most of the season so far... dropping SP* Darryl Kile. I've never seen him do so bad but I was hoping it was just being in the Wild West. I figured once he would get some regular starts outside the division his record and ERA would improve. No such luck as I think he went something like 0-3 in his last 4 starts and his ERA and Whip stayed pretty much the same. That also ended the idea of moving him on a trade. Believe me, I checked all the rosters and couldn't see a trade to be had that even I could convince someone to take.

Problem is there wasn't much to be had starter-wise. I also toyed with the idea of upgrading a position player but there wasn't anything out there worth it for the few I would want to upgrade. I finally settled on Vargas to bolster my reliever corps since I've gone cheap with Coors friendly starters. This put Halama back as a starter but as long as he gets me five I'll be okay.

Sorry Artemus Rex - this was the first time I checked into this thread since my last post here - I hope your 2007 team is doing well - but you probably wouldnt have wanted my advice in any case because I have had a total of just 4 07 teams so far - will be lucky to hit 10 by the end of the year - 07 just really does not interest me much I suppose.

My team continues to play horrible on the road - our win % has actually dropped from .296 to .277 ... but thanks to a strong home record I am back over .500! I can only hope I start winning more games on the road before my luck at home runs out!

Well we're half-way through the season, and I've only managed to win 2 of 15 series on the road. My Win % on the road remains below .300 ... I do not think I have had a team perform so poorly on the road in a very long time, if at all. I knew this team was built to play well at home, but was hoping for .400 on the road ...

If my squad does not turn it around soon - won't even have a chance at the Wild Card. :(
