Agree with the above, you can post about these types of events anytime you want.
My Dad served in Europe, 5th Armored Division, spent 6 weeks in the Huertgen (sp) Forest freezing in a fox hole in the fall of 1944. As a die-hard Cardinal fan, he told me about listening to the world series on a lousy transistor radio that October.
He was laying in a bunk at U of I Champaign again listening to the Bears play on Sunday, Dec 7, 1941 when they broke in to announce the attack. He didn''t even know where Pearl Harbor was .... that was going to change for a lot of folks real soon.
