Over the last month MLB has had some huge moves. AnY thoughts?

Todays news is Soriano from the Rangers to the Nats for Wilk.

How about the Red Sox and Mets?

As a Mets fan, I've gotta admit to being sucked in...again...and feeling all optimistic about next season. Who knows, this new Omar regime just might have something going! I love how I've seen on many threads on this board how good Wagner is in Shea...well now we'll know!

White Sox

Love the re-signing of Konerko and the addition of Thome. Hate to see Aaron go-but it makes room for 3 rookies. Today-Mackowiak for Marte-great-Marte probably wouldn't have made the team.

And the best news-the national media again is writing our team off-as not being able to win our own division. BUT Cleveland will have to learn to win those one run games-cuz our staff is back and you'll see those type of games in '06.

I like hearing or reading about all these trades the last few days.
I am a bit disappointed in the very few moves by the Yankees, wish they
would make some moves to improve their team.

Toronto is definitely getting better. I keep waiting on my Cardinals to do something, something positive that is. Recapping the Cards this hot stove season;

1) Offered arbitration to Matt Morris (if this is to get the draft picks that comes with someone else signing him great, if we did this so he could stay here - bad deal)

2) Trade Ray King (Tony's favorite) for Bigbie and Miles. Bench players.

3) Let Grudzalinek and Tavares go. Hate these two non moves.

I have faith in Walt Jocketty but I'm not blind either.

Being a Red Sox fan I like the moves so far. Looks like by trading Renteria they have a plan to get Lugo from Tampa. New double play combo of Lugo and Loretta. I love it! Maybe Mike Lowell will show that he was not washed up. I am not sure who will play 1B since they elected not to resign Millar or Olerud. Big Papi? Youkilis? Looks like Manny and Damon will stay but who knows.

I love the additions of Mota to the pen and Beckett to the rotation.

I also like the trades of big names. Should make things interesting.

Disappointed in the fire sale of the Marlins but some people say they have the talent to compete in a couple of years. Then they'll sell again.

As a Phillies fan I will miss Thome & Wags. Ryan Howard has hit his whole career and I believe will make the Thome deal work out. Hope Rowand gets a little of his power back. Let's go Flash!!

I HATE the Mets. Nothing personal, no individual players - just hate the Mets as a division rival. Made the DMV in NE give me new plates for my car because they gave me NYM 123. Just couldn't do it.

I would like nothing more than another great offseason turning into a bad chemistry experiment like it has in the past. Unfortunately they haven't signed big name players at the end of their careers like they did in the past. They will have a quality team.

Mets have improved but Atlanta still the team to beat. Wagner was a risky addition with his arm history but we'll see. Bullpen still needs some set up guys. Maybe Heilman? Too many mashers, not enough small ballers in the lineup-Shea is not a good HR park. The 86 team had Backman, Dykstra, Knight, Wilson, Hernandez-all singles hitters. Straw & Carter only power. and that team won 108 games. Wright is still the best guy on that team (Beltran overrated).

Jays have the makings of a contender. IF (big IF) Burnett puts it all together & with Halladay - awesome 1-2 punch.

Boston better keep Manny & Damon. Nixon, V-Tek are getting old and Ortiz will be pitched around to. Their pitching is weak & inexperienced.

Cubs finally got a lead-off guy. With their pitching they should be in it.

If Thome is healthy, White Sox will be favorites to win again with that pitching-thats a complete team
