Haven't had Pujols yet, have had Beltran several times so Albert it was. It also didn't hurt that Albert was on AT's recently completed championship team, so the goal is for Albert to go back-to-back. 8)

Pujols has been on 2 of my 3 07 Championships. I think he is a good #1 pick in the 100 league, and was glad JTJ/WM dropped him last league. :)

AT, we ran many sims with and without Pujols before the last NLD. In one sim, he smashed the all-time HR record with 75! However, our overall team performance and team rating was significantly better without Pujols than with him.

One thing the sims show is that SOM is very much a game of chance. Win totals by season vary greatly. Unfortunately, we hit the low-end of the possible outcomes when it mattered. Given how our luck has been lately, I don't think having Pujols would have improved our chances.

Fair enough Wineman. :)

In fact, looking at the kewl new stats Bernie just gave us, Pujols only had the 6th best OPS in NLD 17. Chipper Jones, less than 1/2 the cost had a better OPS. Then again Pujols had defense & health, so ended up producing more stats.
