I am sure you have LOTO all planned out, irregardless of whether it ends up being 36, 48 or whatever owners. I am going to assume that if there are going to be 36 owners that you are likely to just cut the lowest 12 after 1 Round, rather than 1/2 as would be the case with 48.

However, another option could be to have everyone play the first 2 rounds, and then, based on cumulative W/L of both seasons, take the top 12 for the Finals.

Or if you wanted to be ambitious, start the 2nd league at the 1/2 way point of the 1st league, and after 2 seasons, again based on the cumulative W/L of both seasons, drop to 24 for Season III, and then have a 4th Season for the Final Season.

Just musing - as I've said, I'm sure you've got it all figured out. :)

It is a 3 round elimination Tournament. With 36 teams(3 Leagues in the 1st round), It will still be a 3 round Elimination Tournament.

I will take the 24 best teams by record with tiebreakers(Which I will list at a later time) and list them in order with an alternating sequence(Best to last) as to whether they play in League A or B ie. Best record in League A 2nd best in League B etc.

Since the second round is Unique Stadiums with a lottery for order of stadium choice - One's 1st round record will have no bearing on Stadium choice.

But in the 3rd Round(Finals) - The 12 best records that make it - Will choose their Ballparks(Unique Stadiums again) in order of their 2nd round record - Best record will have the 1st Stadium choice. The 12th best record from the 2nd round will have the 12th choice.

The rules are listed at the beginning of this thread. They are very simple. The only rule change would be how we choose the 24 teams for the 2nd round - by best record(from 3 leagues) as opposed to the best 6 from each of 4 leagues... Which means it is possible that one of the 3 leagues could have 7 teams make it and one could have 5 teams make it to the 2nd round.

The Format is: By Elimination - 3 0r 4 Leagues(36/48 players) - becomes 2 Leagues(24 Players) - becomes 1 (Finals) League(12 Players).

Round 1- Any Ballpark, 80M CAP, 10% Caphit on add/drop
Rondn 2 - Unique stadiums (By Lottery), 60M CAP Progressive Caphit on add/drop 5-10-20%.
Round 3 - Unique Stadiums (By merit of record in the 2nd round - 1st to last), 80M CAP Progressive Caphit 5-10-20%.

All Leagues are Advanced Rules, Weighted Waivers and all will use the DH and are simple Autodrafts. Divisional Placement is by 1st come 1st served.

*** No Player may use the same Ballpark more than one time. So all teams in the Finals will have had to use 3 different Ballparks to play there.

The reason I don't invite a lot of players right off on the your is because LOTO evolved out of a group of very tight strato buddies that had played together for a long tme. But the group just kept growing the past 4 yrs, until we had a 24 player Tournament with other friends that wanted to play.

It isn't that I am a Strat Nazi or snob, nor that any of the people i have played with are - It's just that those who has played in the past get the 1st invitations to return. But as enuf players decline from the group, I am able to open those spaces up to players who have good reputations as well as very competitive records.

I am actually now probably the worst player on the Tour. but there was a time when I wasn't htis bad. :wink: :lol: Hopefully, some of the Core players can vouch for that faint memory.

It appears that a lot of veteran players are easing themselves out of the game and playing much less than in the past - If at all. Do this year's LOTO has many new players- Which is actually probably a very good thing. But it still is not a public Tour - At least not yet, as I still have hopes of getting 48 total players.

Sentences are fine, but here is a translation (if that's ok) Your post is very readable, however.

After starting with 8 close buddies, the Tour grew to 24,all friends.
Invitations go to original members first then players who are competitive with good reps. Many new players joined this year (probably a very good thing), due to the loss of veteran players. Would like to keep the Tour invitational AND get 48 players-if possible.

Any timeframe for when the cutoff might be for a start date? Looks like about 34 managers so far...wasn't sure if you were planning a full court press to get to 48, or just looking at 36 at this point.
