I agree that it's been a great league--and highly competitve.
A couple of notes on my team, the Crushers9: I can't win the Central because I'm 3 games out and can at best tie the Irish Stouts. But they hammered me in the tie-breaker. I think I just won 3 games head-to-head. They were certainly my nemesis and also a conspicuously better team.
I do have an outside chance for the wildcard vs the Beulahs because, although I'm 2 games out, I would win the first tiebreaker. But I need some help from the Jablowmis--how about a sweep! Go, Jablowmis! This was a challenging season because I got hammered in the draft and have had to scratch and claw all the way. But it's been fun.
Meanwhile, don't forget to cast your Hall of Fame ballot, also on the 80's page. :D

By the way, is "conspicuously better" a good thing? :P
I got some fortunate breaks along the way with Sid Fernandez and Cecil Cooper but I never expected this team to hammer it out of the park like they've been doing. Wish I had a true lead-off guy though.
I also kept Burke all year but ended up limiting his role. I've been really working hard on determining pitching cards based on stats in my last 5 leagues. I still believe he's not in his worst year despite what his stats say. I think that I can predict hitting cards fairly well but pitching cards are a mess. Many times the leagues are so chock full of good hitting that a good card oftentimes looks like a bad one. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to the end of the year reveal on this one to see if I'm wrong.

Well, you did your best. I managed a sweep in the final series but ended up just one game short.
Still, a very fun season and a lot of my players were fun to watch. If only I'd tried Blue, Burris and Swan a bit earlier (they were a combined 21-9) I might have managed it. Or if I could have won even four games against the Irish. It will be interesting to see what all the seasons were.
BTW, I guess I was wrong about Phelps, who hit 31 HR for the Hoboken version of the Cashews in 411 AB and had a .930 OPS.
