Mav

Morris is serviceable the first third of the season. Velocity and movement good. As the season progresses, he loses speed and movement and the ball jumps. Remember, he wasn't exactly in a hitter friendly park either. Hate to see him leave as a Cardinal forever but to improve our team, he had to go.

Still hoping STL gets at least one corner outfield bat, a good def and on base 2b, one good starter, and 3 relievers. Cardinals are playing it close to the vest right now but I still have faith in Jocketty.

From the Cards standpoint I am not disapointed yet. Bigbie and the 2b who's name escapes me are usefull players. I think another year post surgery Morris will show improvement if we have to re sign him. I would prefer Millwood. The bullpen needs addressed and another OF is needed but there is still time for things to work out.

while wins and losses are not everything , they do mean something!@!!!

are we to say that pedro's +.700 winning % means nothing???

i am curiuos to see how burnett and beckett fair in the american league after seieng clement, pavano and j vazqez struggle when they made the move....

and lets call a spade a spade........

clement and burnett are about the same

"great stuff, just need to put it together"

i believe after 5 or 6 years of "trying to get it together"
that what you see is what yoiu get

My Braves...

will struggle with Mazzone IMO. Picking up Renteria will not fill the Furcal departure and I hate they traded Marte. Benemit played a lot better last year and was hoping they would give him a shot. If Hampton pitched like he did right before he got hurt, plus if Sosa does a miracle like last year, the Bravos still have a shot, BUT who gonna close. Hoffman name popped up..nope. Kolb Gonna get another shot.... Maybe. Reitsma.... WAAAAAA.

ALways fun to see whats gonna happen. Guess the Jones boys and old man Franco have to "Get er done!!!!"

Mav, I think that Alfonzo and/or Ray Durham would both be highly sought after bargaining chips in any trade offer if they didn't make so darn much money. I think they rake in a combined $13.5 million next season, which is way too much for the production/durability they bring to the table.

Feliz, on the other hand, has the power to bring something solid in a trade, but at 31 years old and with an unwillingness to take a pitch I don't see our Giants getting much, if anything, in return for him. It's unfortunate, but that's the way I see it.

The pitching, on the other hand... let's say they sign Matt Morris and slide him into the second starter spot. Then you have Schmidt, Morris, Lowry, Cain, and probably Brad Hennessy. I've seen worse. If the pitching stays healthy, they won't need to score a TON of runs - just a lot.
