I think that one team from each league should be done..don't understand the "pre-pairing" of teams...obviously whomever gets the first pick of the AL (probably the Orioles) will get the Padres with it..what's the big deal about "pre-pairing"???
100 million
NO DH
ABSOLUTELY TRADES to move around players...

Recommendation

Postby rschwartz51 » Sat Dec 10, 2005 7:15 pm

1. Bobschwartz22 MI(chigan)
2. LMBombers - DC
3. Sneezedoc-NY
4. Memphisjohn - TN
5. Splinter - GA(AL/NL only)
6. Genegrid- IN
7. Hooner - PA
8. Lumbercompanysouth -TX
9. FAaron - NJ
10. genevajack- IL
11.
12

Based on the thread to this point I'm recommending the following:

1) Manager picks 1 team from both the AL & NL
2) 100M budget with roster of $80M.
3) No DH
4) Free trades among managers

We still need 2 managers.

Propose using Wednesday lottery

I am opting out of this league as I have too many other leagues going (including the original of this theme!). I am sorry guys. :( Good luck with the league.

Trading

is not my favorite option in this theme. Kinda taints the idea. But if the majoity decides to do so I'd like to see a limit of 1 maybe 2 trades.

Trading

Postby rschwartz51 » Sun Dec 11, 2005 3:30 am

I would go along with the Splinter on limiting trades.

I need some help in filling the league. There are 3 openings. There were 1 or 2 managers who said they were interested but were unavailable last week and a couple of managers in the league already that would be unavailable thru Tuesday. Wednesday was the best day for the draft to begin and so I hoped we could have the league filled by Tuesday.

I have my brother coming in by train from Wyoming for a couple of days in order to handle som important estate business so I wont be around on the computer as much as would be needed to run the league.

Trading and Mimimum Roster Floor

Postby genevajack » Sun Dec 11, 2005 11:33 am

I like the trading concept. To keep the intregrity of the dual team combo intact-we could set minimum roster floors on franchise players. for example a 20 player minmum. This would allow a manager 4-8 non-franchised players on the roster.

Agree with the trading concept as well. To make it clear about trades, we should require an announcement to the entire league of trades involving non-roster "prospects" to make it clear who has options to which players.

By the way, I'm a little confused about "Manager picks 1 team from both the AL & NL" -- I take this to mean we have to have one AL and one NL team to draft out our roster. Is this a correct interpretation?

Yes.

As a matter of fact I'm going to say that if we can't play the theme straight(AL/NL, no trades) then I'm not interested. By the time you merge 2 teams and make trades you might as well have had a draft league.

I don't know why we can't live with a 20 player minimum from the 2 franchises we "draft".....this would be like another league I was in (where you had ONE team as yours and the rest a draft of Free agents of teams not chosen)
