Help Another Wrigley Team

Weaknesses:

Don't like hard LH's in Wrigley, esp. a RP. He could be a cannon fodder for right handed batters.

Maroth is not going to get used much with 3 Wrigley's in your division. If you want a LHSP, look @ Lee or Dubose. (It'll save you a few bucks...)

I like to use a Reverse LH @ Wrigley. Like an Alvarez type. Pettitte on the high end.

Lidge/Torres and Ayala are all R2 guys. You can/will get a few innings from them. That is good. I like to ALWAYS have in Wrigley a very hard RH in the pen. With Lidge in your pen, he should get most of the innings. Guys like Dotel, Speier, Bradford or Miceli are good cheap guys to have. Even Percival is a good closer to pair with Lidge.

Hermanson has been good for me in Wrigley.

Hey Ryno....

Your team is solid with good Wrigley type players.

A couple of ideas though if you're looking for some tweaking:

1) I liked Green in RF instead of Giles... Green's one of the better bargains in the set and has hit 30+ HR's for me in Wrigley, and Giles begs for a platoon mate (Bocachica).

2) Way too much relief pitching. Lidge, Torres and Sanchez is plenty with the quality of SP's that you have coupled the quality of Lidge and Torres (Sanchez is a pretty decent mop-up guy). If you lose Ayala and Fuentes you'd free up quite a bit of salary for use elsewhere.

3) That'd leave you 6 RH'er SP's and 1 LH'er. I haven't looked at the make up of your league yet, but perhaps you might think of swapping one of those Rh'ers out for another lefty, a hard righty or lefty, or a reverse lefty or righty (whichever best fits the configurations of your divisional foes). 5 RH'er's is all you'll need, so that 6th one is probably un-necessary.

4) My favorite palyer in Wrigley this year is Beltre... about the only place he's worth his money. If there's a way you could swing a deal for him that would be a huge plus. Maybe Ramirez and Giles for Beltre?

5) 5 rh batters (w/power), 3 lefties, ob types (Kotsay is perfect, Kennedy looks good, although he has yet to live up to expectations for me, Green's agreat value and does provide som LH power) and 1 SH is my preferred method of attacking Wrigley. A nice performer in Wrigley is Estrada. Burke is excellent also... but it might be nice to have that 1 SH'er in the line-up. You might consider a move here.

I wouldn't swing the Ramirez for Huff deal... you've already got 3 lefties.

But I'd definetly do the Westbrook for Peavy one. Westbrook's pretty good in Wrigley, but he's not Peavy, and with your staff you don't really need the * rating on Westbrook anyway.

Made a couple of trade offers and waiting for them to be read. I had a chance to get Bonds if I was at the computer when he was released however, I was not and one of my division opponents picked him up.

If you look above we are calling this the Wrigley division. There are 3 including my team. The first time that I am using Wrigley and get into a negative or positive situation with Wrigley player hard to get.

This happen the first time I used Shea also but in that league there was 1 Shea in my division and 3 outside my division. Made it very hard to get the players that I needed. I did manage to get to put a team together that won 93 games and then lost in the 1st round of the playoffs. That team had a 28-7 RJ which helped a lot.

Any other comments on this team are always good for stimulating thought.

I am also looking at lineup ideas?

I'd think about having Arod leadoff vs. RHSP. ....certainly no lower than 2nd.

Big question in my lineup is if I go 1-6 all RH then Green, Kozay and Kennedy or How do I split the 3 LH up a little.

vs RH?????
Burke
AROD
Caberra
Glaus
Konerko
ARAM
Green
Kotsay
Kennedy

vs LH
????

I am having trouble with the no Dominate LH stick in line up, but understand the wrigley RH power. How would anyone out there change this line-up?

You probably have to stick a LHH in the 2hole. Kotsay and Kennedy are both good 2hole hitters. Burke might have to drop to 9th which might be ok because he'll be on alot for A-Rod at the turn(ie 2 run dingers).

How about this line up

AROD
Kotsay
Caberra
Glaus
Konerko
ARAM
Green
Burke
Kennedy

With Burke and then Kennedy at bottom of order it is like second 1st and 2nd hitters in the line-up.

vs LH

A lot of people viewing... not too many people making comments and helping the birthday boys.

Posada is available... should I trade in my catchers for him?

If so do I then need to reduce my RH bats or get a new 2b, Cf or Rf?

Keep Burke.

He will hit for a high average, and OB. Just don't expect any HR's from him.

btw- In your lineup, I kinda like him in the 7 hole with his + clutch.
I actually lead him off when I have him.
