Round 3, League 9 - Live Draft Time - Late League!

the official tournament of SOM Baseball 20xx

Thanks for the explanation Kaviksdad. Hopefully we can finish up this round and start this league soon. I assume we will have the usual add/drop period after the draft. If this isn't correct, someone should post an explanation.

Anyone know if Cchong is still with us? He is once again due to be skipped:

Welcome ASSMERITEN
Round 17
CCHONG25 has pick #198
until 2007-08-01 16:45:03 EST

The usual add/drop applies to waviers and after waivers. All players that you live draft must be on your draft card. Then they can be dropped durning waivers, etc. The exception should be taking a player as a holder for example a ballpark since there is a problem with the code for at least 1 park that i know of. The code promblem is most of the parks draft ids are 2007xxx yet the Cell is 2007US so the program is looking for the 3 x and can't find it so can't process US Cell as a park. The draft id code should be 2007USC then the draft site ballpark code would work.

Not much of a point creating a team while the draft is still going on. That is how you put players on your draft card that get taken in the live draft.

If we ever get the draft done that is. :x

Is there really a point in completing this draft?!? Chong hasn't checked in and made a pick since the 12th round. I am not going to skip him again and for that matter am not going to waste my time inputing a team in a league that might never get off the ground.

So until one of the following occurs I will not be making a pick:

1) Chong checks in here and confirms he is playing and he updates his draft list.

2) You find someone to replace Chong to get this league off the ground.

If someone wants to manually go in and skip me, knock yourself out, in fact I will concede right now and just take what is left over for a ballpark and my 17th player. There is no way everyone will have there teams input my tomorrow night, so I am through wasting my time with this group.

Since I committed to playing in this league I will still input a team when that time comes, but I will no longer be checking into this draft until I know we still have 12 people committed to a league.

Be part of a Solution!!!

I can certainly appreciate the frustration Bbrool has expressed. While I empathize and understand, I can't condon exascerbating the problem. We need you (Bbrool) to make a pick and skip CChong. We can deal with whether or not he's going to play later. The important part is not to alienate the other managers who have also spent time on this draft. If CChong is not able to complete the draft (who knows, maybe he's sick, injured, out of the country, etc.) we should move on and if necessary seek a substitute. DON'T PUNISH THE OTHER MANAGERS BECAUSE YOU'RE FRUSTRATED!!! WE ARE ALSO. I really think you should reconsider your stance. Please realize the other 10 managers want this league to get going also. BE PART OF THE SOLUTION.

MonsterT,

Actually in most live drafts you typically suspend the draft after the player is about to be skipped twice, because you always have to consider being able to find a replacement. In this particular case, if anyone where to pick up Chong's team they are at a disadvantage (how large is open to debate).

Now that fact that this is a tour league, one would expect the entrants to follow through and therefore I can see skipping multiple picks. However, it has been quite some time since Chong has logged in and the draft should really not continue until this is resolved.

The fact that we are so close to the end it probably doesn't make alot of difference at this point so I will go make a pick, but good luck in finding a replacement if Chong really is unavailable.

Oops

Guess it doesn't matter. Thought I was calling up Schmidt card to look at and instead drafted him. Didn't mean to. Guess I can replace him in waivers since even though I put in to drop him, I know of course that wouldn't be allowed.

Bigbean! Please make your 14th Round and 17th Round draft choices as soon as possible! We need to know who you draft before loading the divisions.
