The unbalanced theory

The unbalanced theory

Does the unbalanced theory of strat o matic strategy work in this particular online game? I have been reading a strategy guide which proposes playing lots of LHB who kill RHP and worrying less about RHB and LHP as there are few good lefiy pitchers out there. Obviously a lot depends on each year's card set but does anyone follow it? I would imagine it means lots of platoons as you are only taking players good at facing a certain side. Can it be done in face to face board game play?

70/30

That's what I always keep in mind. You will face RHP an average of 70% of the time.

Even quality lefties struggle at Strat, the exact opposite of the real game.

The great equilizer, HAL and his bonehead decisions.

I have found good success usually with a left-handed batter heavy lineup. All other things being equal, give me a good hitting lefthanded batter over a righty. Also, have been pleased with having a pitching staff of 0-2 lefthanded pitchers.

That is what I was hoping to hear. I always seem to face a lot of LHP though in my leagues recently. One division has a 50/50 split so I needed players who were better than normal vs LHP, mostly righties. I thonk I have always under used lefties so that my teams are usually better against LHP and consequently not as good vs RH.

There are a few super cheap lefty bashers (MERLONI, Blum, Payton, Hammonds, Jordan, etc.) that can help protect you from LHP, those kinds of guys are essential to this strategy.

So, who's better, Belliard or Boone?

Someone recently posted about a vet who had a very right handed team, asking "can you be to right handed?" I believe the idea was to prove that you could win with RH batters and pitchers. The RH batters obviously must have been '04 Beltre types, who kill righties.

Recently I had Alou (2R) in Safeco. What a crumby idea that was.
