Are we going with 2 hour clock or 4 hour clock at the corners? I only ask this because he's meat is currently about 45+ minutes over the 2 hour clock interval and am not sure what we should do...

At the corners I think you get 4 hours, at least that is what I always thought. Small advantage on the corners offset by long waits for additional picks.................

Well we're at a standstill. Meat's clock has expired but no subsequent picks anyway....

I'll be back around 4:00. Hopefully the picks won't come in bunches so my clock won't expire....have fun. :)

Personally, I'm not a fan of the "I'm on the flop so I'll take twice the time I'm allotted" mode of thought. We're going pretty slow here.

Can I just say for the record how much I appreciate it when other owners use proxy picks?

and I promised I'd never hold it up again, and no one hates it more than I do....im a west coaster too, but NEVER expected ALL my proxies to be gone. here's what I left heading into the coffee corner we ended on last night...with greenberg going before we got there...in no particular order...musial, greenberg, f. robinson, maris, with the last of them, robinson, going right before me. guess ill have to leave 20 proxies next time...

I usually plan on losing 20-25% of my proxies. If I'm 8 guys back and I'm going to be gone for a while, I'll leave about 8 proxies and I'm usually good. I'm also a big fan of using the "groupings" feature on the site, so if I need a shortstop, I'll rank them in order and put them in the first group, but as soon as I get one, the group goes away. It's worked pretty well for me in the past, because regardless of who's on my list and what order they're in, that doesn't affect the actions of the guys ahead of me.

Granted, this doesn't help much when there's a run on a particular position player, but if everyone goes on a binge for CF, then my odds are better for getting the guy I want in another group, so I don't sweat it. With the player pool the way that it is, there's a lot of positions I can sit back on and wait for and not really lose a step.

new twist to 200 strategy

Postby dlarkins » Wed Aug 22, 2007 1:01 pm

I have been below 450 on most of my 200 teams so trying extreme stratagy here.

fouled up order of proxies or I would have had guidry and koufax for camnitz and mathewson

still unsure wheter to go extreme pitchers park or extreme hitters park

low scores would be good but hitterspark will help my relatively cheap hitters

see how it all develops

dan, i nearly took koufax when i took frish(woulda been alexander/3-finger/koufax)...pretty interesting we're in the same division, and im not sure which im turning on the park either, but likely big spacious one considering all the big time power hitters are gone. also have a very brief but extremely checkered 200m career.
