It would appear that Jackson was thrown out tagging up. Is that what happened here? Is this in the super advanced rules because I don't remember tagging up as an option for the board game?

I agree, either trying to advance (from first?????) on the flyball, or going on a hit and run, and doubled off.

I went back and checked my lineup. I had Jack Clark following Hornsby and he was set for "Don't Hit and Run." Then I went to Statistics, Manager Profiles and my team had no Hit and Run attempts. Eliminating the H&R as an option means he MUST have tried to take second on the fly. Which brings me back to my original question. Do the rules allow for runners to tag up on a fly ball? If so, it may affect how I set my runners preference for taking that extra base. Anybody know for sure?

My understanding is that notwithstanding (I love that phrase -- as a lawyer I use it all the time! :lol: ) what your particular settings are, HAL will still occasionally use the H&R. That is the only explanation I have come up with on those times when I had an "E" stealer marked No Steal, and manager settings on conservative, and the E player was still thrown out trying to steal. The person behind was marked "no H&R" but HAL still apparently did it.

I'm pretty sure it was a regular fly out and Joe tried to take a base. Especially if you have Base Running set to Aggressive.

Base running was indeed set to aggressive. Mantle, Ott and Stephenson were in the outfield at the time. Ya I know...I was pushing my luck just a tad! :roll: The board game rules only called for the option to take an extra base on a result of a hit+ (RF) or (CF) or (LF). Automatic on a result of * or **. So it looks to me like Jackson did "tag up." Either that or another explaination that has been tossed about has come into play....HAL hates me!

yes there are chances to advance on fly balls. I think its the B? on the cards. In normal mode I think this is for scoring from 3rd on a flyout .... the online game gives you chances to advance to 3rd from 2nd at times.... the agressive setting must also give you a chance to advance from 1st..... either that or it was one of the "rare" plays
