There will be a 1st Ring FlingIV , where no ring winners are allowed.

Hopefully I'll be ineligible

Such a "theme" if I can call it that, does give relative newbies an option.

I don't think very many people here are all that serious about winning. Teams are assembled to win games, and championships, but I don't think I've ever seen any form of ugliness from someone who failed to do so.

I think the only real spirited disputes stem from philosophical and mathematical differences regarding the game, and from HAL and his decisions, and those are mainly vents, not anger.

Why else would Nev keep coming back??? :P

I see people talking about Strat and SOM and TSN and not differentiating between them... Unless I'm mistaken, SOM leases their engine to TSN to provide this service. TSN is the front-man, so to speak. You can't really say that SOM should do this and SOM should that about this service. They aren't in charge--TSN is. Granted, I'm sure that TSN has to get SOM to buy off on whatever they do with regards to the game, but it isn't like SOM is running the show here.

There was a suggestion in this thread to add ballpark ratings to players. I don't this is going to happen--it's not in Strat-O-Matic's game, and I don't think TSN is going to do it on their own. I do agree that it would be a nice thing to have, though. :D

I suspect that SOM leases their engine to TSN with the agreement that TSN can't do much of anything to it. TSN certainly can't change or add to any of the coding.
