Agosto did not pitch in this series.
However, LHP Lucas was called in to face an RHB for the second time. He is tougher on RHBs. Only season where he is tougher on LHBs is his worst WHIP.
Howell broke the pattern. He has now been summoned to face both an LHB, which he tends to be better against, and now an RHB so I have no feel for which season he is. Perhaps the fact that he came in in a save situation is an indicator. I can only hope.
Williamson finally pitched. He was called in to face a switch-hitter who is tougher on lefties, than righties. Williamson has more seasons where he is stronger against LHBs (3) than RHBs (1) with one even. However, he too came into a save situation and went almost three innings.
After 9 games, I have had 10 bullpen appearances and so far no trend, other than the fact that Eichhorn has not been used
Of interesting note, since the first game of the season when the bullpen was shelled, in 10 outings, combined, they've gone 9.1 innings and allowed only three hits and no runs.
Again, I know it is early, but combined with the performance of my starters, (Browning has not surrended a run in two outings, Swan 1-1 has pitched well, Stieb has dominated, Caldwell won and Perez is a question mark with one bad outing and one so-so) I'm getting excited about my pitching staff.

Looks like you mentioned 6 RP on your team. I dont like to carry that many RP. As you mentioned, Eichorn hasnt pitched. Is that because your SPs are doing great and he hasnt been needed? I think the more RPs you carry, the harder it is to figure out what you have. A 5 man pen might get about 80 IP per man. If you take that up to 6 or 7, you could wind up with only 12-15 IP by game 40. That isnt much to go on. I dont think you can get an accurate gauge of a player on that few IP.

Actually, it was 4 righties and two lefties (Agosto and Lucas)
I did end letting Eichhorn go because I need the cash to make a more on Andre Dawson who was released after just 9 games.
HAl finally brought Agosto in to face an RHB as the first batter, but there was a guy on first and Agosto has a -4 hold rating.
So a new variable is introduced. Does HAL consider a pitcher's hold rating?
Once again, the first batter LP Lucas faced was an RHB. He only has one season where he is tougher on LHB, his worst, so I think he's a keeper.
Bedrosian came in twice in the series and faced a switch-hitter, M. Young, who tends to hitter lefties better both times.
Williamson also faced a switch-hitter, Howard Johnson, who typically hits RHPs better.
No save situations and, interesting, Howell did not pitch.
