[quote:5c0e5ae41d="AdamKatz"]In particular I am wondering if anyone thinks I picked anyone higher up than they deserved.

I think in most auodrafts, everyone shoots for Sandberg, Doran, Whitaker or Randolph (and I usually walk away with a less popular 2 fielding 2B in the teens)[/quote:5c0e5ae41d]

You took Butler just before I was going to.

I was going to push 2B later in the draft and get a J. Cruz/Remy platoon. Then someone took Remy to quash that idea. After re-evaluating I saw that there were more decent 2 fielding 2B left than there were teams that needed a 2B so I didn't even live draft a 2B at all. I took Damaso Garcia in the AD. Even after him there was Marty Barrett. If I wanted a 3 Johnny Ray was still there too. I didn't realize how many useable 2B there are in this game. Some may disagree and not consider Garcia, Barrett, Ray or Remy useable.

I was surprised at how far down Tommy Herr went in the draft.

Rice Puts Up Stink Over Contact

Postby YountFan » Thu Dec 15, 2005 7:51 pm

Fenway (YF) - Farts slugger Jim Rice took his message to the streets today in an effort not to play for the Fenway Farts this season. "This team is going to go nowhere." said an obviously pissed-off Rice. "YountFan is more worried about the concessions than his team. He spending money on sauerkraut, baked beans, Mexican food all kinds, and said he can't afford to pay me. Well, YountFan better wake up! Jim Rice puts [b:add532c00a]fans in the stands[/b:add532c00a] and that's money in the bank"

It has been rumored that MuttonHead Martin, owner of the Classic 80s is interested Rice. "I heard Jimmy's unhappy and that's too bad. He is a great player and deserves a better manager than that dufas YountFan. I proposed a few deals, but YountFan ain't playing fair. He claims in the press that Rice isn’t worth the money and with the small seating capacity of Fenway he cannot afford more and yet he want BOTH Eric Davis and Gorman Thomas for Rice. 'YountFan, get off the crack and come back to earth.'"

Once again sports talk radio is all a buzz with YountFan. Given the comments it looks like the fans want YountFan out of town.

"Tell that cheesehead YountFan that cows aren't allowed in Fenway so he'll have to leave his girlfriend home."

"YountFan, wake up man, Rice is a over due hall of famer and a real man, not like that gaywad Boggs."

"Hey YountFan, Braggs is a better manager than you."

"I saw YountFan in the pornshop last night. He claimed he was looking for Boggs. What a loser."

Rice Traded!

Postby YountFan » Fri Dec 16, 2005 6:05 am

Atlanta (AP) - As the final step in a story that has been unfolding all
week, the Classic 80's acquired perennial Red Sox All-Star Jim Rice in a
trade with the Fenway Farts today. The 80's sent Gorman Thomas to
Fenway in exchange for Rice.

"I'm just thankful to be back with Muttonhead Martin," exclaimed a clearly
jubilant Rice. "Sean is solid peeps, and I'm glad to be out of that
(expletive) shithole that YountFan created in Boston. What a shame to
see such a classy city and a great organization be destroyed because
YountFan steals our stadium out from underneath us. He can use all the
dirty tactics he want to -- but I ain't playin' for him no mo."

A very distraught Thomas was quoted as saying, "Man, I was so excited to
be part of a great organization in Atlanta. I love Boston, but I don't want
to play for that freak YountFan. It's gonna be a long year, man. Hey, has
anyone seen my bong? Oh yeah, here it is .. right beside my Jack
Daniels!!!"

Thomas Joins Molitor and Yount

Postby YountFan » Fri Dec 16, 2005 9:43 pm

Fenway (YF) - It was reunion day at Fenway this afternoon as Gorman joined his old buddies Robin Yount and Paul Molitor. "Oh, we had some great times back in Milwaukee." said Thomas. "With Paul and Robin at the top of the order I'm sure to drive in 100 runs. I'm glad to be here play for YountFan. I love kraut and beer so we're real brothers. Yount and I go hunting together...so the ladies better watch out"

In an effort to provide Thomas a drinking drinking buddy the Farts picked up the hard hitting Greg Luzinski. "We need a left fielder too replace old whats-his-name and Luzinski came hight recommended. We try to get the Vuke, but were unable to purchase his contact." commented YountFan. "Thomas and Luzinski fits the good 'o boy Farts image the fan seem to want."

Sports talk radio was frantic with Thomas talk this afternoon.

"That YountFan is looking smarter, or maybe I'm just really drunk, the the Thomas deal is good for our team. If Rice don't wanna play here then bye-bye Jimbo."

"I meet Thomas today down at O'Toole's. He's a great guy. As long as he's buying the beers I don't even care if he hits."

"YountFan should be shot for trading away Rice. Thomas ain't no Rice. But that would be one fight I'd pay money to see. I had to admit that Thomas is one tough mother fucker."

YF, Your getting a regular Harvey's Wallbangers reunion tour there. You just need Cecil Cooper and Ben Oglivie now.

The Red Sox are my favorite team. I grew up in Winter Haven, FL where they used to have Spring Training. Back in 1977, when I was 12, my family took a trip to Boston to go to a couple of games. It so happened that they were playing the Brewers. We apparently stayed in the same hotel that the Brewers did because one morning when we were having breakfast in the hotel restaurant the waitress somehow knew I was a baseball fan and pointed to a black man and said that he was a baseball player. When you see them out of uniform they look a little different, especially when they weren't on TV as much as they are now with ESPN and all. I was wracking my brain to think of who that player was. I knew he had to be a Brewer. Larry Hisle? No he wasn't big enough. I finally realized he was Cecil Cooper. I got up the courage to walk over to his table to ask for an autograph. He was dining with a black lady. I don't know if she was his wife, girlfriend or what and it didn't matter to me at the time. He politely said something like "after I am finished eating". I kept my eye on him and when he got up to go pay his bill I tried again. He very graciously gave me his autograph. That night during the game I was pulling for Cecil to do well but for the Sox to win of course.

Now that I think back on it as an adult I realize just how nice he was to me in that hotel restaurant. I wonder what Manny Ramirez or other premadonna's of today would do in a similar circumstance, especially if they are dining with a lady.

Coooooooooop

Postby YountFan » Fri Dec 16, 2005 10:28 pm

Copper played for the Bo'Sox before coming to Milwaukee. I'd be glad to have Cooper and Benji on my team. Benji's bat was a whip...man it was fast. No disrespect to Yount, I could easily be BenjiFan. That Cooper kid ain't too bad either.

I don't think today's players would nind giving a autograph to a kid. A real kid not some kid working for a colector.

Rice Arrested - Future Uncertain

Postby YountFan » Sat Dec 17, 2005 12:53 pm

Atlanta (YF) – Jim Rice was arrested last night for assaulting an officer of the law, driving under the influence and smelling bad. At about 3:00 AM local time Rice's Mercedes was stopped for running a stop sign. Rice failed the sobriety test and then struck Officer Fife when he attempted to place Rice under arrest. Rice claims he wasn't drunk and didn't see the stop sign because he is new to the area. "Atlanta's a NL city and I'm an AL guy. As for the assault, that was nothing. Officer Fife started giving me crap about smelling bad saying some thing like 'so Mr. Rice, you just can get the stick of the Farts off of you.' I never touched the man."

A review of dashcam video showed Rice picking up Office Fife, spinning him around three times and slamming him down on the hood of the cruiser. He then helped Officer Fife up and appeared to be very cooperative.

Classic 80's owner Sean "Muttonhead" Martin could not be reach for comment.

Rice Pleads NOT GUILTY

Postby seanreflex » Sat Dec 17, 2005 8:19 pm

Atlanta (AP) - In a packed Fulton County District Court this afternoon, Jim Rice, represented by world-reknowned attorney Muttonhead Martin, entered a "not guilty" plea to all charges stemming from Rice's arrest in Atlanta last night.

Muttonhead went on record as stating, "we will prove, beyond any doubt, that my client, Mr. Rice, was deliberately injected, against his will, with a mind-altering substance, causing his abnormal behavior. We will also prove that YountFan is responsible for the poisoning of Mr. Rice. We know all about his reputation of meddling with psychotropic drugs. Hell, he even owns a team called "Psychotic Reaction". He is a sick, twisted individual who is harming the reputation of MLB, and we will NOT stand idly by and let him destroy my client!! He MUST be stopped."

The fans in Atlanta are hoping the effects of this psychotic overdose is not long-lasting. Rice's doctor feels Rice will be ready for spring training, and will be in Classic's starting lineup on opening night.
