Thanks Albert, and good picks. I'm surprised Yount made it, as he has been a disapointment this season. I was hoping Raines would make it but I can't argue with the OF's who made both teams.

By year end I hope to have more players in contention for recognition, as my pickups are turning out to be my best players, such as Cey. I'll also take this opportunity to thank Sean and Rebel for dropping Grubb and Barrett, who are kicking ass for my team. :D

LOL, BC. If my internet hadn't gone down and I had posted this Sunday, Yount WOULD'T have made it. A few days ago, Franco was out hitting Yount but I guess he has slumped a bit and Yount has picked it up over the last few days, giving him the nod.

Raines was very close to beating out Armas for the last OF spot, but Armas was just too productive to leave off.

BC -- it was my pleasure to drop Grubb for you. I was REALLY growing tired of watching your team stink it up so badly

This game is very funny. I knew from the L/R splits and the triples when he was on Sykes' team it wasn't his bad year; I just wasn't patient enough, thought I needed more pitching (which I still do), so I cut him loose.

Glad he's working out for you!

Albert, great jobs on the All-Star picks. Chicken Man Boggs appreciates the recognition, even if it is a DH spot.

He's about 3 for 30 since you picked him, so thanks for putting the whammy on him

I'm looking to make my yearly run at the back end of the season. Seems like my team always thinks they are in the hunt for some reason.

I have almost 4.5m in cap space and can take on salary. I'm open to all offers.

YF, I did the deal.

Though I'm 9 games back, I'm expecting to be a buyer down the stretch, instead of a seller, for the first time. Not sure what futures I will have to offer. Mattingly is a defensive replacement for me this season, but it would take a mighty impressive offer to pry him away from me.

Jack Burton Officially "Lame-Duck"

Postby Runnin Rebel » Mon Dec 19, 2005 11:39 pm

PorkChop Express Manager Jack Burton was fired today along with General Manager Egg Foo Yung in a shake-up that had been rumored for some time. The Express find themselves mired in last place of the Central Divison a position quite foreign to a squad one year removed from the League Finals.

Since last All-Star break the once stellar team has limped along with a 71-100 record.

In the interim Burton has been replaced by HAL who will fufill all duties pertaining to line-ups and starting rotation. Leading the short list of replacements is second baseman Phil Garner who more than likely will be named player-manager at the start of next season.

Yung was targeted as the main reason for the team's decline. Pundits lambasted the GM for standing pat at the trading deadline last season while other teams fortified their line-ups for successful post-season runs. The final straw had to be the performance of draft choice Marty Barrett who was released after a slow start only to find his hitting stroke elsewhere. This coupled with the history of disastrous draft selections (Storm Davis, Scott McGregor, Mike Scott) spelled the end of Yung's tenure.
