I'm just curious to know what is the worst record anyone has seen make the playoffs?

The worst team I've seen make the playoffs is 83-79 as a div winner.
Worst as a Wild Card 86-76

You want to see a lousy div. winner-Here you go 80-82, but won the division going away!

In the 12 completed 2005 seasons for me I found one division winner with 81 wins and in another league a wild card team with 82 wins. That wild card team won the Championship!

I had an 80-82 team that swept last series to win division but lost in finals.

The worst I've seen was my own 84-78 division winner, and I had to finish with a flurry to get a record that decent. The rest of the league was comparing us to the NL West.

80-82? To be sub .500 and still make the playoff the rest of the div. must have been fairly bad?

I would have to look, but I think I won a title with an 84 or 83-win WC team.

Pretty tight division. Rest finished 1,2 & 3 games behind.

I just looked. I have titles with an 85-win WC team and an 84-win WC team.

On the other hand, I have had 88, 86, 84 (twice) and 83-win teams miss the playoffs.

That team won the first playoff series before losing in the finals
