[quote:cd7ad27314="qksilver"]Chuck, just a counterpoint to your argument above. We'll never have an FA draft as rich as the 2008 one. It has nothing to do with the quality of players that come up at any given time, it is 100% a result of what players are included as FAs now vs. in the 2008 FA draft.
According to our current structure, the only time rookies for a given season will not be available in the prospect draft prior to a season is this one. 2007 rookies are automatically converted into 2008 FAs. THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. The richness of the 2008 FA draft will not be repeated for that reason. There are exceptions to every rule, and while normally I would never argue for changing the rules during a draft, I think it's warranted in this case.
I think most of you know me. I'm not one to be an unnatural pain in the a$$ or unreasonable. I also feel very bad for KD because it puts him in an awkward position, and I feel worse because KD very graciously came to me (& others) for advice before starting this league, and I think we could have avoided this scenario if I had been paying more attention to the revised rules that were posted.[/quote:cd7ad27314]
I agree with you 100% on this issue QK.Unfortunately for me I was also one that did not closely read the rules and when the issue was brought up early on was traveling back and forth and was not paying close enough attention to this thread(my own fault of course).I was under the false impression that everyone that was not carded was available in the prospect draft.
Now the only problem I have with the vote was the fact that several of you changed your votes from yes to no which doesnt seem to be appropriate in this instance. After all a new league like this one is bound to have issues from the outset so I dont see there being a problem taking a vote during the very first draft to get all the issues squared away
