Netplay III

Postby MoCrash » Sun Dec 18, 2005 10:40 am

If you don't have 12 owners yet, I'd be interested in joining. The only problem is that I'll be out of town during Christmas week, with only limited net access (I'll have my laptop with me, but the people I'm staying with don't have the net and I'll have to look around for Wi-Fi hot spots). I also have to order '75 code (I assume, and correct me if I'm wrong, that there are five HOF picks and the rest '75), which I should have upon my return on evening of Dec. 30. If the draft does not begin before then, I'll be good to go. Once season begins, I have considerable schedule flexibility, so should be able to play live over 90 percent of the time.

I couldn't find the 2001 HOF roster in the SOM store. I did see the 2000 HOF roster though. If in fact it is 2001 that I need, can someone send me a link?

My .02 on overusage:

There should be a severe penalty such as no post season play for those overused. However, what about those managers who overuse and don't make the playoffs? Maybe not making the playoffs is penalty enough. :)
Also, I don't have a problem with an inning over, or a PA or 2 over. We all know that HAL can do some pretty screwy things when left to it's own devices. But if the decision is zero tolerance, than so be it. I'll adhere and support that.

The HOF disk is the 2000 disk.

I doubt that we'll be starting a draft before Jan. 1. Very, very unlikely.

Overusage should not be abused in any netplay season. Dont even know why anyone would do that as to win that way isnt a win to me. Geez, we're not playing any prize but bragging rights and you forfeit that if you overuse players to win

I'll order the '75 season and you can count me in for draft after the first of the year

I am sorry to hear that Rob is so un happy with my useage/overuseage of players in the last season, but it was certainly not intentional on my part. The problems which occured with games replayed by the CM's we have, I think, belabored. I was astonished to find I had made the playoffs when I returned from Vegas, and to win the championship is, of course a crap shoot. One of the games I won in the finals I scored 9 in the bottom of the ninth, for crissakes. That isn't overuseage, that is dumb luck. Never the less, I do not have the 75 season yet, and Rob does. My self imposed penalty for my sins of overuseage in the last league is to bow out of this one. Rob, you are welcome to return. When season three rolls around, if things have died down, let me know.

I have the 2001 HOF set. Is there a difference? Do I need a 2000 HOF set instead?

There's only one HOF set. Strat-o-matic calls it the 2000 HOF disk, but it loads as a 2001 league.

OK. Thanks for the clarification. I'll order it and be ready by the time this league starts.
