Pitcher's ParkTeam- My First

To all,

This is my first team in a pitcher’s park (Jacob Field) so any thoughts are welcome. Other division teams are Yankee Stadium, US Cell and Petco. In the other divisions are Several Buschs, US Cells, and 1 each on Coors Kauffman another Petco and Comerica.

We are pre-waivers and I am in position 10. I have waiver claims in on Halladay for Weaver P, Lowell (Tracy is also available) for Cirillo 3B and Gross for Linden LF.

For my lineup I see something like:

Theriot DH
Cabrera SS
Matthews CF
LaRoche 1B
Lowell 3B
JD Drew RF
Gross/ Ross LF
Molina C
Carroll 2B

Depending on my cash flow after waivers I need to pick up another 2(-2) catcher and some better back-up middle utility.

Does this look like it is on the right track?

Cabrera is not a #2 hitter
Matthews is not a #3 hitter

There is no SLG on this team, besides Laroche.

Pure hitters (30 + hit chances each way) are needed
Putz AND Benoit in the pen = overkill.

So does one look for players with lots of HRs and few BPHRs?

Ideally, look for a guy or 2 with natural HR's.

If they are taken, you gotta grab a guy or 2 with lotsa SLG. (Can have BPHR's)

Guys that hit lotsa 2B's.

High OB.

30 hit chances either both ways or 1 way.

Pitchers with BPHR's are needed here as they will be outs.

Good D up the middle.
