Gene, looks like a good theme! Lets play ball. I'll still use Idaho as my state though I don't live there anymore.
There is some interesting strategies available in this league as taking the highest payroll team may not be the best strategy.........hmmm.

I couldn't tell if you had Urban Shocker on that list. His card is for the 1920 St. Louis Browns and he also pitched on the 1927 NY Yankees.

It seems when BSU plays big schools on their home Green Turf, they have issues!! I think it's unfair that these schools use green playing surfaces just to throw off the Boise St. players!!! Completely unfair!!

By the way.....any Michigan fans out there!!??

You are correct but the '27 Yanks could not pickup Shocker because it would put them over the $80 mil salary cap. Same with the '39 Yanks adding Lou Gehrig.

Re: OCTOBER THEME RULES

Postby genegrid » Tue Sep 11, 2007 10:35 am

[quote:0bf57f9956="genegrid"]I am going to post my October theme to allow everyone ample time to research. It will be an ATG3 one franchise theme.

GREATEST TEAM OF ALL TIME LEAGUE
$80 mil
NO DH
State lotto pick 3 high to low for draft order (use the lotto on 9/17)
choose one and only one franchise ('27 Yanks, '46 Cards, '29 A's, etc)
Divisions 1-4 east, 5-8 Central, 9-12 West
No trading except for FA's (see below)
YOU MAY CHOOSE ANY PARK FOR YOUR TEAM
Free Agents of $1.99 or less to fill roster done via auto draft

You must keep all of your franchise players on your roster all season with the following 4 exceptions.
There are 4 teams who have over $80 mil salaries
'39 Yanks may drop 3 players to get within salary requirements
'06 Cubs may drop one
'09 Pirates may drop one
'29 A's may drop one player so they can have enough salary room to pick up enough players for a minimum roster requirement.

Any team who had an ATG3 player on their original roster may pickup that player as long as his ATG3 team is not drafted AND he fits into the $80 mil salary cap. A few high impact possibilities are listed in another post:

(See post below for a list of players)

Again, if the players' ATG team is drafted then he belongs to that team. But if his team is not chosen then he can be auto drafted by his other team(s).

Other then picking up original players from your team that is listed on another ATG3 franchise, (see a few examples in another post), you may spend up to $1.99 on free agents as long as you stay within the $80 mil salary. This will allow the lower salaried teams to compete as the higher salary base teams will not have enough cash to spend much more then .50 on an FA.

These free agents of $1.99 or less can be traded or dropped and picked at will throughout the season

Franchise rosters requirements are 24-28

Choosing any park is my favorite rule as I have noticed a few teams who do not seem suited for their park, (For instance the '54 Indians are definitely not suited for '54 Municipal with only one mediocre LH power bat)

I will post franchise salaries and a link for everyone to look up any team to see their original rosters.[/quote:0bf57f9956]
