Help With My First Online Team-1969 Corrected Link

Postby jmasters » Wed Oct 17, 2007 9:18 pm

Hi,

Well I think I've corrected many of the mistakes I made drafting and organizing my 1969 Bisons with my 1970's and 80's Bisons. Even my 2001 Bisons would be in first place except for five blown saves in my first 27 games by my first $6 million closer.

Enough of that and back to my request for help. After 69 games I stand 13 games under .500. I'm starting the easiest stretch of my schedule tonight. Your advice would be helpful. I know I failed to secure a good right handed power hitter. My defense is terrible because I've needed to score runs with the run of bad pitching. My pitching has not performed near what I expected given my expenditure. One mistake I haven't made is falling victim to the 80% waiver penalty. Well here is the corrected link http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/1969/team/team_other.html?user_id=33485

please don't worry about hurting my feelings, I know I've made scores of mistakes.

Thanks,

I have not played in a while, but I think you don't have enough power. When in a hitting park, I think you should go cheap pitching and explosive offense. I don't know that you can fix it now, as if I recall correctly, the FA pickings are few in the '69 game. If you are in Tiger Stadium, Reggie, McCovey or the like(LH basher) should be your #1 pick IMO. Reggie is easier to get. You barely have a couple of guys on pace for 30 HR's, which is not enough for your park IMO. To fix things, I would try cutting the pitchers to get any offense that can help. Look for pitchers that do not have many #HR. Here is an example of a basher team I had in the '69 game.
