Why I drink

Why I drink

Postby NEILKAHN » Tue Dec 27, 2005 3:46 am

I fell asleep in front of the fireplace, a purring cat on my lap confident that my evening's machinations had left me in good shape for the combat to take place as my 18 teams took to the field. However, when I awoke at 2 AM, I was shocked to find that my teams had gone a collective 3-18. Next, I did the only sensible, logical thing. Instead of going to bed and waiting until the morning to review the carnage, I moved from the laptop to the desktop in hopes that the results there would be better. They were not. Then, like a moth drawn to the flame, or, perhaps more accurately, like a rubber necker slowing down to look for blood at a traffic accident, I followed the results as they came in for the next couple hours. Final damage, 22 wins, and 32 losses. I have had worse.

Actually Chief, didn't the results get better when you went to the desktop since you finished up 19-14 after getting off to a 3-18 start?

What I meant, actually, was that I was hoping that by going to another location, the results already reported would be magically transformed, but you are correct. The results did improve when I read them off the desk top, so that is what I will do, henceforth. It is always something like this, you see, that results in the failure of my teams, never poor planning on my part.

After winning the first 2 games of the semis and then dropping the next 3 to miss the finals, I am thinking that I need to increase my drinking!
