B.Y.O.B. - PREP FOR DRAFT

Postby johnlaw1564 » Mon Oct 29, 2007 2:36 pm

I'm done making moves. I could not quit until I had Theriot batting 2nd for the Aholics. I also liked Kelvim Escobar for next year, so when Hamels became available I dropped Arroyo. Best of luck to all and may the strat rolls be with you! As I mentioned before, feel free to let me know when you have a stat of note to mention as a candidate for the "NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY!"

Yup, I knew someone would jump on Hamels, but I just felt I was spending to much on pitching and not enough on hitting. ( still feel that way, probably why I prefer 100mil leagues) that, and with Hamels, all of my pitchers did better against Lefties, thus the swap for Suppan.

We'll see if it works out.

Good luck to all, except when you play me.

well 3 sweeps to start of the season

for me, lets see haren had 10k's 3 hits and zero earned runs in 1st start not 2 shabby... Sanchez off to hot start avg wise

Ottawa off to hot start with there bats with 11 home runs looks like they are playing lets see if can outscore other team cause pitching has a 5.10 era but they were one of the 3 teams to sweep in opening series looks like they will provide lots of fireworks for ther fans with lots of total runs scored in there games

East Granby off to hitting .319 as a team thus far  but have worst era of 8.40

scorpions off to a great winning wise start as one of teams to sweep while hitting 300 as a team and having a era of 2.00 with a whip of .93 as a team

well thats stuff I saw right away while glancing thru the things, will wait to see the nightly report from John Law

OCT 29 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

Jeremy Bonderman pitched a 1 hit shutout as the Dunder Mifflins topped the Work Aholics by a score of 3 to 0 at AT&T Park. Bonderman (1-0) dominated Work hitters. He allowed only 1 hit and 1 walk in 9 innings.

"He was moving it around and spotting it very well," Work manager Johnny Law said. "Bonderman pitched a great game. He deserves all the credit. Let's hope we can get our bats working soon. We may have to call in the Sammy Sosa Bat Company to fix our problem!"

ya if i could get that type of performance all year out of pitching staff u all will be in trouble

but I know reality will sink in and they'd still be good just not that unstoppable

thanks for noticing it though

also
heya John how about starting another thread just for the nightly recaps
here we can let u know of other stuff we saw, then u can edit and post more stuff in the other thread... keep that one just to the nightly highlights

just a thought

OCT 30 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

Designated hitter Jim Thome rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and John Smoltz took a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Tchoupitoulas Dos Jefes outscored the Scrubs Are us 6 to 1. Thome hit a bases-empty
home run in the 2nd inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 2nd of the
season) in the 3rd inning. Dos Jefes manager Jack said, "Thome looked like a man amongst boys today. I bet that is how he seemed to the little league pitchers in Peoria, Illinois!"
