2005 ATG Barnstormers Tour Finals

Postby mighty moose » Thu Dec 22, 2005 12:01 pm

FYI - I snatched the link to the league and it's now on the web page and live links are in place. All teams are on the standings page except for Penns which I will grab when he enters.

Oh, BTW, I modified the cumulative standings page to highlight (lowlight) sgl's impressive achievement of abandoning the finals. I assume we haven't heard from him yet still ?

Glad to see you guys got your problems worked out and you'll get your finals underway.

MM :P

So, MM

Did I make your list or am I merely the Sgl sub as my team states (lol) I was the 13th in the rankings so I don't feel like a total interloper here, lol.

You get yellow highlighting, just like all the other finalists.

You be in high champagne territory.

Two early season "doffs":

First doff of the cap to Boss, who ran off five wins in a row to begin the season and is off to 5-1 start.

Second doff of the cap to Munich Man and Howie Pollet. Pollet snapped Boss' five game win streak - with a no hitter!

Congrats! :D

Quite a pitcher's duel in that no-hitter as well. It was Pollett vs. Dean and Dean only gave up 3 hits over 7 innings. Too bad one of them was a HR by my big slugger Larry "Big Bat" Bowa, who leads the team in RBIs and now has two HRs for the season! He's batting .346 with a .577 SLG

That was a great series, with game one being a 12-10 slugfest with a total of 38 hits. Game 2 was a classic 1-0 pitcher's duel with Pfiester besting Alexander, and then the 2-0 no-no by Pollett to stop The Boss' streak. Great series and great start by Boss!!

That's good. :D

That's a tough string of one-run losses out of the gate. I wish I were that funny when my clubs get etched out in a run of tight losses. Instead of "ha", it's tends to sound more like "crash". :x

I was wondering how this team was doing because I was without computer access Monday and Tuesday night. I had set my pitcher's and everything, I just could not see results. I am glad to see the nice start I have 6 games in. We'll see what happens when I run into another 5-1 team managed by Nev.

The initial Player of the Week Award is SteveAmes' Larry Andersen. A low-priced RP, I have never seen this pitcher have a good season as a few of the low-priced pitchers will do from time to time.

Well, check this out through 15 games:

Andersen, L. R R3 5 1 0 15.1 9 1 2 7 .59 .72 1L .52M

5-1 with an ERA of 0.59 and a WHIP of 0.72 through 9 appearances and 15 innings. Those are some numbers! Congrats!

Used to use Larry all t he time in ATGI... don't think I ever have in II, my tastes in relievers has gotten a bit more $$, I think.

Awesome performance!
