A belated Merry Christmas to my NLD pals, even Silver who not only wins two games with multirun 9th inning rallies but injures another outfielder. Our guys are going to have to wear body armor facing that staff. :P

Good luck to everyone down the final week of the NLD regular season and 2005!

WM,

No luck on the body armor. Helton went down for 3 (the max of course) tonight. I don't know how we're hanging in there with the injuries and with our pen blowing their last three save opportunities in the 9th inning. :(

Brutal.

Hang in there guys.

Silver,

I wasn't complaining about Ward, mind you, just curious if that was an anomaly or more or less expected playing in Coors. Thanks for the info.

Don't look now, but Silver made the West a 3-team race with a sweep of Hawkeye. 8 teams alive with 9 games to go. And down the stretch they come.....

Another sweep by the silvers - it's goin' right down to the wire in the East, West and for the WC. Looks like the only sure thing is the Diamond Kings in the Central, congrats bigmahon.

Niners and Korkie go at it tonight in what could decide the East. I think Day is done, even if he wins out, unless it ends in a 3-way tie for first. Then it comes down to tiebreakers and I'm not going to figure that out.

Injuries really hurt our team at the start and at the end of the season. Fortunately, after our first game tonight, God willing, we'll have everyone healthy for the final 5 games and can try and salvage a spot in the playoff spot.

AT, while eliminated in the Central (congratulations Big), is still alive in the wildcard but needs to win 5 of his remaining 6 games and hope Hawkeye sweeps Silver and Penn sweeps us tonight.

Point is, as usual, the NLD keeps you interested all the way to the end.

Oh well - those things happen - have been too busy this past couple of weeks to really monitor my team so it is no surprise to see it fade down the stretch - at least I'll have finished my 3rd consecutive winning season in NLD with 1 more win. :)

Wish we had that excuse, but I have no explanation for how our team has gone 1-10 this week. The plethora of injuries didn't help, but we must have just stopped getting splits completely to lose that many games, many of them close including 3 blown 9th inning leads. :( We've also scored all of 28 runs in the 12 games this week. :x :x This, playing in US Cell, Minute Maid and Tropicana. I'm shocked that this team didn't score more runs and hit more HRs. I mean, Beltre in MM? 36 HRs :!: What's up with that? I Rod 15, Helton 13 :!: (.286 ave???) :?: I think only Durazo and Werth had decent years. Wells hit all of .187 after our trading for him. Wow, we'd have been better off letting David Wells hit for him. Brady Clark hit .206 with a .305 OB!!! It's not like we were in Petco or even had pitcher's parks in our division. This game is so NOT realistic.

We have to sweep Silver to make the playoffs as WM says he holds the tie breaker. One more friggin' win and we're at least in the driver's seat, but we've just gotten our fannies kicked this week.

This has been a pretty lost season for us with several teams doing exactly this. Blah this game sucks. :(

I hear ya partner. 2005 has been very unkind to us with almost all of our teams folding down the stretch. Very discouraging but at least we have a few months to try and gin up some enthusiasm for 2006. :(

Great stretch run, Silver. I've never seen someone come from 8 back with 12 to play before. Nice job.

so someone help me out here.Should Joe/WM take 2 of 3 from Silver and if Penn were to sweep my team(which unfortunately is very possible given my teams very erratic play over the last 40 games or so)then which 2 of us make the playoffs since the 3 of us would have identical records??Damn just 1 win against Penn and I am in.It sucks that I cant rest my injury players(Glaus,Cota and Hollandsworth especially)
