Injury to starting pitcher

Injury to starting pitcher

Postby bark123 » Mon Nov 05, 2007 6:54 am

I have 5 starters in a 1969 league. All my starters need 4 days rest. One of my starters is to miss 6 games. I'm wondering what will happen to my rotation...skipping my injured starter will result in two games without a properly rested starter. On those two days, what happens? Will HAL skip over the injured starter to the next guy in line? If so, will they be less effective? Or will a reliever get the nod for the first game, thus keeping the rest of the rotation in line?

I don't have any money to buy a cheap sixth starter

Haven't played 1969 but I'm using SOM uses the same rules.

One of your relievers will start the game in place of your injured starter.

Thanks very much for the reply.

Yep. Here comes Tug McGraw now, ready to make his first start tonight. Funny, I noticed that he wasn't used in last night's games in relief. Wonder if that was because he was going to start tonight.

I think that would be giving HAL a bit to much credit.

In regular SOM whenever this occurs, for me anyway, the reliever usually pitches a gem.
