Postby egvrich » Thu Dec 29, 2005 5:23 pm

Who will win this classic matchup of a SLUGGING TEAM (mine) vs. a PITCHING TEAM ?

My team finished 2nd in runs scored and 11th in runs allowed:

Should be a good matchup but I give a slight edge to the longball team for the following reasons:

1. Lolich does not match up well against all those righty power bats. If Dulli is smart, he will pitch Lolich in his home stadium ahead if Pfiester or Clemens. If not I think it's game over.

2. There's going to be some high scoring games and asking Honus and Clemente to stay healthy with all those extra AB's might be pushing it.

3. The smallballers lean way to the right so now Lea becomes an ace for the longballers.

4. The series should go at least 6 games which gives an advantage to the power team as the smallball team's bullpen wears down.

5. I always thought the Afghan Whigs kind of sucked. Musically they were a pimple on the ass of the Screaming Trees.
