Honor a "Vet" theme league "Tora Tora Tora"

In honor of all current and former members of the US Military come and join me in a theme league with a major twist....Think you are pretty good at stat on line?? This one will test you.


The Scnerio:

While US troops prepare for the day on a lazy Sunday, December 7, 1941 Japanese Zero's and Betty Bombers are on the way to strike....The US is totally unprepared and off guard. We are launched into WWII...This league will have some rules that will try and capture the way it was as far as each sides ability to wage war at diffent times of the war.

Rules: 200 Mil DH----using the 05 set (04') stats---DH---waivers

Each manager will select which side he chooses to represent when he signs up. US or Japanese

2 round serpentine draft by lotto where each managers must choose 1 pitcher and 1 hitter that he MUST KEEP ALL YEAR...In round 2 all players will also select his Battlefield (ballpark)...No duplicates.


US Players -- Your CAP will be 50 mil until game 81 at which time we'll have a Frenzy and as the US Industrial might comes into play you will then have a 150 mil cap....Just like in the war...You will be behind till the midway point....Do you have the savvy to catch up??

Japanese Managers---You will start out with a 150 mil cap but must cut back tio 50 mil at the 81 game frenzy...can you hold you lead as you lose troops left and right?

Based on the Lotto results the divisions will have 2 US and 2 Japanese units in each front (Div)....YOUR COUNTERPART IN YOUR DIVISION IS THE ONLY PLAYER YOU MAY TRADE WITH....You may trade back and forth to help each other out as much as you want throughout the game.

Each Manager must use an actual unit as his team name: ie, 1st US Marines---I'll provide some Japanese unit designators if needed...and his name will be a General for each particular side..

We done a similar league a couple of years ago with the "Civil war" as the theme..It was alot of fun so come on and join in a tribute to the Vets...

Please enter your lotto state when signing up...Lotto will be LOW TO HIGH and also which side you choose to represent.

The 05' set is only $12.50 so you won't lose much and you may just gain two credits, so come on and join.

This looks like a very interesting theme. Plus, me choosing Japan in no way reduces my Love for America. My teams always tank at the end.... this just gives me more food for fodder....... or in other words..... my excuse.

Hey guys I recieved a PM about this league in which it was brought to my attention that the way it is set up the US player plays a Japanese player in the playoffs it would be probably a one sided affair because the US player would have a 150 mil team vs Japanese 50 mil....This is a valid point that I had not thought of....However, I still like the rules the way they are because if you think about it that scenerio would capture the way it was toward the end of the war....The Japanese had little chance as the war drew to a close....I like underdogs :D I might just change my choice of US to Japanese player....If after reading this anyone wants to change to the other side that is cool as we are not full yet....

I think this is a new (to me) and cool concept but I don't want to learn a new year of cards. If you do it for 2007, I'd be in.
