NLD 12

Postby korkie » Sat Dec 31, 2005 10:42 am

Niners i've been on the other end with that first place listing, it's definitely annoying. I don't know why they do it like that. That being said I would have definitely been annoyed if I missed out given my pitching was by far the #1 ranked staff and my run differential was excellent.

I've been burnt out of SOM BUT I have 3 credits still remaining plus whatever happens in the playoffs here so I HAVE to play more seasons and there is nowhere i'd rather play than in the NLD.

Does anyone know if you can transfer credits? I'd be willing to give one to Wineman if paying the money is the issue. Can't see myself playing 3+ more seasons anyway.

BTW- I think Day's suggestion is kind of cool, especially for those who think their team underperformed.

I am definitely in for another go. I've got 12 credits just rotting away. :?

By the way, congrats to korkie, hawk, and qk. I just hope I can give qk a battle this time.

Happy New Year from jolly old England!

I have no problem with playing another 2005 season since the NLD is one of the few places I have been able to put together winning teams this season(2 for 2 making the playoffs so far with you all and another championship sure would look very nice since this is by far the most star studded league out there)

Happy New Year NLD!

I'm sure you'll all be happy to know that I received this note from Sempter today!

I'm back at work now after getting released from active duty on 1 December

Spent a few weeks in Hawaii with the wife and am now getting my work mojo re-charged with the idea that I'm not heading back to Iraq in near future timeframe

I've been re-miss in not messaging earlier but life is just getting fun again.

I'd say that's a n ice New Year's Present.

Awesome news about Semper. Definitely cause for celebration! :D :D :D

Korkie - Thanks for the credit offer. If we go another round I'll buy in. I can afford it and you can always transfer a credit for 2006. I appreciate the thought though. 8)

All - If we go with the format of keeping most of our players, would we also keep parks?

Thanks for the post on Semper, Jet, great news!

Wineman, i'd vote that we keep the same parks.

What should be the mandatory amount of players dropped be? I would suggest they'd all have to be above a certain amount of $$ because dropping scrubs wouldn't really do much. I'd say something like 3 pitchers over $2 mil, and 4 offensive players above 3$ or something along those lines. Dropped players would be added to the FA pool and selected as Day outlined above.

If we do the keeper thing, why don't we just specify a $ amount that can be kept? We do this all the time in keeper leagues, and it works really well.

Good luck tonight, playoff teams!

Former NLD Owner Suspension Coming to a Close

Postby Semper Gumby » Tue Jan 03, 2006 11:35 am

After sitting out the 2005 season due to violating the league's policy on bathroom hygiene, former league substitute owner, Semper Gumby, will petition the NLD's league's commissioner to regain ownership of the Cleveland franchise.

"Since the real Cleveland Indians had such a great year in 2005, I am certain I can field a winning team now using these bargain players," bellowed Semper from his office location in the Cayman Islands.

"I can't go into details on why I had to sit out the 2004 card season but I'm sure many others would be guilty too if they had their hands tested after using a public restroom facility. I mean George Carlin says if ain't clean for you, well then it can't be clean for someone else."

"While the league may wish to see how I do using the New Jersey Turnpike restroom facilities, I've happily learned my lesson and will carry Baby-Wipes for every trip to the 'head'."

Besides returning to SoM action next year, Semper hopes fellow NLD owners stay away from his Cleveland Indians picks next year.

[i:f6a0cffec5]Semper Gumby: I want to draft the Cleveland Indians players.
Unnamed NLD Owner: Cleveland? I didn't know they still had a team.
Semper Gumby: Yup, they've got uniforms and everything; it is great![/i:f6a0cffec5] [i:f6a0cffec5][/i:f6a0cffec5]
