I agree, the team is looking better. I don't see your fascination with Pierre though.

I've seen mixed results with Jennings - maybe others have more experience.

Have you considered John Patterson? He kills righties and is also effective vs. lefties. The plus with Patterson is that you net $2.15 with him rather than Randy which you could use elsewhere, like CF. One potential move to think about if you are ok with Patterson is take the 2.15 and drop Pierre for Endy Chavez - better hitter, fast, better defense. You could bat Johnson and Chavez (or vice-versa) 1-2 in the line-up.

Another option is to go cheaper at CF with a guy like Kotsey instead of Pierre and use that $ to get Jason Bay, who can be very good. I think you could get him by dropping Pierre for Kotsey, Delgado for Thames (which I would consider doing anyway), and then Ibanez for Bay.

Just some ideas. Fee free to scrap them all!

I think all those moves are ok, except J. Jones. Valzquez will be ok, not great or dominant against any particular side, but ok overall. I still like Patterson a bit more but Vazquez is more balanced.

If it were me, I'd take Bard over Mauer (I think he's available?). You could bat Johnson 1st, Bard 2nd, Cabrera 3rd, etc. IMO, Bard will do as well (or close) to Mauer. I like them both, but I think there's more value in Bard. You could take the extra $ and upgrade Matt Morris OR take the extra $ and drop Jones for Marcus Thames. I think Thames, given the parks in your division, could put up some huge HR #s. You'd have to drop someone else to free up a little cash to get Thames, but you could go with a cheaper back-up catcher than Hall as Toby will not get you much more than .5 or .6 catcher with good defense.

Then I'd say you're looking good offensively. You would be sacrificing defense in both corner outfield slots, but you're doing that already with Ibanez and Jones. Also, Cabrera is not a gold glove 3b, but his bat more than makes up for it. It seems the strategy with your team is to outscore people anyway so that's why I'd take a shot with Thames in the OF and hope your SPs keep you in the game until the offense does its damage and the pen saves the day.

Your lineup would look something like:

Johnson
Bard
Cabrera
Tejada
Delgado or Thames
Thames of Delgado
Ibanez
Kotsay
Loretta

My 2-cents. Hopefully someone smarter will also offer input!

Um, you couldn't bat Bard 2nd if you had him. Too many DP's on his card and too slow. I think your hitting is fine save for beating the dead horse on Pierre. Well balanced hitting with a bit of everything. Good luck, you should at least be competitive.
