PBTR, ARam is the 9th best choice in your opinion. Everyone values players differently. I think ARam is one of the better 3B in the '05 game. Let me try to list the 8 3B higher ranked in your rankings:

In no particular order:
ARod
Beltre
Rolen
Mora
Chavez
Lowell
Wright
Blalock

Blalock may not be #8. Maybe you have Uribe there instead.

I'm sure goredsox would have the first 5 on this list if he could afford them. The next 3 (Lowell, Wright & whoever else) you could certainly make an argument to have ARam instead. Defense at 3B is not as critical as most of the other positions. ARam is a 4 but has a low e# so he won't kill you on defense. I have seen a fielding chart that shows Wright's 2e26 will give up just as many hits + errors as ARam's 4e12. Infact he will give up fewer hits + errors than Mora's 3e25.

I say keep ARam at 3B.

I have even used Huff and Figgins as my 3B other teams with success.

Actually, I have (based on pure numbers and not conjecture...)

Rolen
Beltre
Rodriguez
Mora
Lowell
Chavez
QUINLAN
Castilla

I'm not saying I would use most of these guys (on this list I prevelently use Chavez and Mora only, Castilla when I must) I'm saying if you're looking for the best numbers from a 3B irrespective of price, these are the rankings (according to my numbers) in a neutral park.

And I believe you are correct about keeping ARam, especially considering he has cash to spend. 3B is one of the better bargain positions this year, it's always worth a look.

Is that offensive numbers only? If not how do you weight the defensive, speed, clutch, injury possibility and other factors into the equation?

That's overall. Including injury.

Having just used Burroughs for the first time, and having used setups like Mackowiak/Blum before, I can say that a lot of value exists amongst the cheapest 3Bmen this year, most of the time I go that way myself.

I'm sure you knew this redsox, but unless you have a ton of really severe platoons, it's best to aim to spend less than a buck on your four non-starting offensive players. Someone like a Marerro can help you if you're a Shea team and not well balanced, but since you'll almost always face like 65%+ RHP even if he performs amazingly he probably won't be worth the money. There are tons of guys under a buck that are great backups, lots of platoon guys, you just have to dig a bit sometimes.

Then you can spend full money on your lineup and/or your pitching (which after Unit concerns me...)

1) I'm out of credits
2) I have too many 2005 teams. Don't forget I play three platforms.
3) Do you want us to help fix your team or not?
