12 TEAM "INTERESTING THEME" LEAGUE---Season 1

Will get lottery results tomorrow AM and set up the order of drafting!
We will draft 80 million rosters NO DH......you can pick 23-25 players
If you pick 23, just, at the end, leave off one of your players and pick up someone not drafted to fill out your draft card

Sneeze,

One item to address is division makeup. You can do same divisions all the way through; 1,4,7,10, etc. each time; or 1,2,3,4 -- 5,6,7,8 -- 9,10,11,12 each time. We opted for the last verison in the other league to give everyone a decent shot at the playoffs in each league.

But you make the call here.

My €0.02-- if we keep the same divisions, everyone will play all the same seeds eventually, it will develop some nice division rivalries, and nobody will end up getting stuck playing more than 3 #1 teams. I would think developing a equitable grid might be problematic.

I would do 1,4,7,10.....2,5,8,11...........3,6,9,12 because we can see if the top 4 "always" are really the top four in each league!

I vote for the 1234-567.... method.... only because of team parity...

I'm wondering if the "1,4,7,10.. 2,5,8,11.. 3,6,9,12" method is fair for all teams... seems like the 7-12 teams can pretty much hang it up from the start... they're not going to have a chance against the top teams... seems like there would be a lot more competition and parity between the 9-12 teams when they're in the same Division... if you pick early, you're gonna have some tough competition in your Division...am I thinking wrong here????

As per division alignment, let's leave it up to a vote...as you list your team state if you want "TRADITIONAL" 14,7,10 etc. alignment or "NEW" 1,2,3,4 alignment
Personally, I don't necessarily believe picking first guarantees anything (unless people have already done this type of alignment before numerous times to prove me wrong).....how many times in this format have you thought "wow I have a great team" and it falls flat on its face..a lot has to do with stadium choices, dice rolls, etc. and remember, it isn't a 200 million league where you can take ALL the best players or 1969 or 200X where there are only a few good players....there is enough "junk" around even for the #12 slot (how many leagues have Gehrig, Ruth, Mantle NOT been drafted???)...I am looking forward to picking near the end to see if I have enough insight to beat the guys (and gals) who pick at the top...and IF picking at the top four seems to be "so unfair", everyone will have the same opportunity in the 12 league format...

Oh and just my idea too ...in your team name when you create it, put your number draft position in your team name (even if it is boring like Sneezer's Wheezer 7) so we know how the "format" is working at a quick glance...
Of course we can be more creative with the number deal if you want (I think my first team will be Sneezer's Eleven)

I think we should go with small numbers 1st like they do in the modern leagues. :P :lol: I'm afraid I will be in for slim pickings even with such a large pool after this bunch gets done. :roll:
