1977 was my first and still favorite strat set, see alot of those guys mentioned here. morgan, stargell, VALENTINE, were huge, but my all-time favorite from that set was cliff johnson. absolutely devoured lh pitching. used to joke that he was in the dugout with a webber grill, a bar-b-que smock with juice all over it, just waiting for a lefty to be summoned from the pen, half the time he'd still have that apron on when he blasted a pinch homer. 1956 was the first old-timers set they printed...mantle was out of this world as a triple crown winner. if you want to see a horrid pitching card, tommy lasorda actually got a card that year I think. phew. one of the great hidden reliever cards was rob murphy of the reds in the 1986 set. just 50 ip, but enough to get a card, and completely strangled lh batters, not one hit. kal daniels on that team was also a terror, one sided against rh pitching.
