MM...how about a 3 in CF ? (Tolan)....what happened to Willie,Mickey and the Duke ?...well,Willie's here but even he's a 2....it's kind of nice to do a live draft in something other than ATG3 though..... :)....I'd feel better if my 3 in CF was Hack Wilson....

[quote:5408c6c379="centerfielder17"].....is John E. REALLY going to start Carty in left and Fiore in right? That's 41 errors in the corner of spots.

I am praying for a LOT of fly ball X chances when I play him! :D[/quote:5408c6c379]

I wondered the same when he picked Carty---Great for a DH league but this one ...Ouch

I need to read this more often, it's great entertainment. So you do something intentionally (draft someone), regret that intentional act and then call the guy who you think benefitted from your act a "weasel."

You guys sound just like the Democrats in Congress!

Well I've got Staub 4e11 starting in RF but at least he has a -4 arm! My LF and CF are 2's defensively. The three together combine for -9 in throwing.

I was going with Stargell in RF but I liked Staub's hitting better than what was still available at 1B so I switched Stargell to 1B when I picked up Rusty.

So far I've got a 4 starting at 1B, 3B and RF. :( Yikes!

ugrant, It is always easier to blame someone else for your inability to draft a player earlier rather than your own self. It is the American way! :P

On Carty

Postby JOHNEIGENAUER » Tue Nov 27, 2007 8:11 pm

I have noticed that a lot of people don't like Carty. His defense is certainly suspect, and I don't like his injuries. But on those occasions when he gets 550 ABs, he's GOOD.

I am going with a 4 at 2b :D I was gonna use Rose as my RF but when everyone passed on Roberto Clemente I figured what the heck...Adding Clementes' offense will more than make up for Rose and his lousy 2b...Can't go wrong adding a guy as you #9 pick who bats .345 and is a 1 in the OF :D . I'd like to thank all Weasles for passing on him and letting me have him....Imagine the top of this lineup.

Harper
Tovar
Rose
Clemente
Bench
Cepeda
..........................................

What's with all this defense whining nonsense? I'm starting Woodie Held at SS (gasp!), Howard in LF (ooh!), Morgan at 2B (ick!) and as yet have no idea who will play CF and RF against righties - but they won't be much better. Damn the defense - full HRs ahead! No weasels played a part in the drafting of my team!

(Close hold secret: look at the times the defense is tested in your old boxscores from '69. The algorithm has to be screwed up - but I didn't just write that and you'll have to do your own research to see to what I refer)

Also, when you're talking about a no DH league I am also the grateful owner of Louis ("Where's the chow line") Tiant...The best hitting pitcher in the set. Good thing because he can't pitch a lick!! I know LMBombers was wanting him, he loves all the Red Sox guys and I would bet he was on his wish list in the late rounds
