I looked back at a few past leagues and the average WHIP is about 1.4. So that means that every game you face an average of 39.6 batters ((1.4x9)+27outs) (we'll figure that errors plus hbp less DP's will add a little to that total, so let's use 40 as a round number).
All pitcher's cards have the same number of 'x' chances as follows:
ss: 7
2b: 6
3b: 3
cf: 3
c: 3
1b: 2
p: 2
lf: 2
rf: 2
for a total of 30/108 or 27.8% of the rolls.
All things being equal, 20 rolls on the pitchers card will result in the following 'x' chances per game:
ss: 1.3
2b: 1.1
3b: .6
cf: .6
c: .6
1b: .4
p: .4
lf: .4
rf: .4
or a total of 5.6 per game, per team.
Pretty close to my quick peek at 6 games where the average was 70/6 or 11.7 total.
