Netplay III

Postby Paul5757 » Mon Jan 02, 2006 4:10 pm

Let’s plan on beginning next week, hopefully Monday. (That might be a bit optimistic.) Maybe there’ll be a little more interest now that the holidays are over. If we wind up with 7 players, we’ll just run a one division without a computer manager. Top 4 teams will make the playoffs, 1st place plays 4th place, 2nd place plays 3rd place.

I didn’t realize this, but I’ve heard that you can load version 11 in another directory. (Just put it, for example, in “cdrombbv11” directory.) Has anyone else done this? If so, maybe CPL doesn’t need to drop out.

I set up a yahoo groups. I didn’t have MoCrash’s email address, so I couldn't invite him. MoCrash, could you PM me your email address (or could someone else just invite him)?

Also, some housekeeping details, such as team names, could be taken care of in the interim. Some rules issues also need to be resolved: closer rules, injuries, etc. I definitely don’t want to use force daily injuries…that might come into play when the top teams are playing each other. I’d rather not use injuries at all; I’d rather just let actual ab’s take care of rest. (My reasoning on injuries: I’d rather have the results determined by the roster you draft, not a freak injury roll on a critical player or a primary backup. Because of the small number of players, the league should be very competitive.) Because of the small number of players, we also might not want to use HOF players this time around.

MoCrash, Boonslick Bandits: No; Yes, not Force or SADV (25/40 rule); Yes (105%); 3 (if 8 or fewer teams), 4 (if 9-11 teams), 5 (if 12 teams)

Is this a DH league or not? Considering that the NL didn't use the DH and AL did in '75, I think it may be necessary to go DH -- since AL pitchers don't have accurate hitting ratings and there are several AL hitters who are mainly DH types (like Carty and McRae).

I have the 75 season and still wouldn't mind playing .... but it may depend on how the rules vote goes .... i would not be interested in letting a guy with 50AB's for the 75 season gettting 250 AB's ..... as far as HOF'ers ...whatever is fine..... the other rules not sure about but i do like the 25/40 rule ...that works out well....but no forced injuries....regular injuries are fine or if everyone wants to go with no injuries I could live with that too I guess....

Rob.. I think we all learned from last seasonwhich was the first netplay season for some, .. with that understanding, it would be good to have both you and Chief Wahoo returning.... I enjoyed being beat by both of you guys !!!!

:o)

I have got some '75 spring training games in with MoCrash... looking to get some in with MTH too... looks like a fun draft and agood season given the players who are available...
