Pinch Hitter

Pinch Hitter

Postby Brent65 » Sun Dec 09, 2007 8:38 am

I had a situation where my team was down one run going in the top of the ninth and I had one of my best hitters up (leadoff hitter) and he was taken out for a pinch hitter with a lot less skills. After reviewing the hitters card, there is a spot that says don't PH for LH pitchers and one for don't PH for RH Pitchers. So I guess this was my fault. If you have a stud player, i.e. Ruth, Mantle and Ted, I guess it's on you to check these two spots of the card and update each quality hitter that you don't want a pinch hitter to hit for them, correct? Any advise would be appreated

That is correct. You should use those player settings. It is to your benefit if you do. If you had both Do No PH for boxes checked then your hitter will never be PH for. PR for? That is another story.

Here's another bizarre scenario that reared its ugly head. I had to use the manager settings and specifically list Ichiro as my defensive replacement in centerfiled to make sure this never happened again.
