DEC 4 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

David Ortiz smashed 2 homeruns and had 10 RBI at Camden Yards as the Midwest Space Cadets ripped the Dunder Mifflins by a large 22 to 6 margin. Big Popi provided much of the offense. He doubled which was good for two runs in the 2nd inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 4th inning, smacked a three-run homer (his 38th of the season) in the 5th inning and doubled bringing in a run in the 6th inning. Every Space Cadet batter had a hit and scored a run in this blowout!

DEC 5 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

Mike Mussina carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning at Jacobs Field as the New Mexico Scorpions beat the East Granby Oh7's Oh8's 7-0. Mussina(12-11) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the East Granby batters. He allowed only 2 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 4.40 to 4.20. The right-handed Mussina lost his no-hit bid when Gary Matthews Jr singled with two outs in the 6th inning.

DEC 6 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

First baseman Justin Morneau blasted 3 homeruns in his first three at bats and had 6 RBI as the Tchoupitoulas Dos Jefes defeated the Fastball Fiends by the score of 12 to 7 at Comerica Park. Morneau propelled Tchoupitoulas to victory. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st inning, blasted a solo shot in the 2nd inning and lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 31st of the season) in the 4th inning.

DEC 7 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

Luke Scott rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Fastball Fiends outscored the Work Aholics 7 to 5. Scott bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st inning and cracked a two-run shot (his 16th of the season) in the 8th inning. Vastly overated closer Francisco Rodriguez (1-8) was the loser in relief.

DEC 8 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

30 runs scored and 32 hits led to an exciting game at Dodger Stadium
where the Dunder Mifflins beat the Oakie Mustokies by the score of 18 to
12. Only seven runners were left on base in this game featuring 10 doubles, 3 triples, and 7 home runs. The game was tied at 12-12 after six innings.

DEC 9 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

Standout reliever Pedro Feliciano (11-3) picked up his impressive 11th victory on the season as 49,372 fans watched an exciting game at Tropicana Field. The Buffalo Bombers topped the New Mexico Scorpions by the slimmest of margins, 2 to 1. The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings. Buffalo ended up winning it in the 10th inning. Kevin Youkilis banged out a single. Jose Reyes stepped up next and he tripled giving Buffalo the victory And sending the home-town fans home happy.

DEC 10 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

Ryan Howard blasted 2 homeruns, including a walk-off job (#46 on the year), in the bottom of the ninth at Ameriquest Field as the Ottawa Heathens beat the Work Aholics by the count of 8 to 7. Joel Zumaya (8-7) allowed no runs in 2 innings to pick up the victory. The loss was charged to incompetent Bob Howry (3-6) in relief. He surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk in 1 2/3 innings. Aholics manager Johnny Law sulked, "We stink! We have lost so many one run games this season. Howry and Rodriguez have been total flops. If we don't pick up the pace the next 30 games, we are looking at securing the worst record in the league!"

Chris Duncan cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Brett Myers went 7 strong innings as the Scrubs Are us defeated the Tchoupitoulas Dos Jefes 6 to 2 at SAFECO Field. Duncan had a big day against Tchoupitoulas. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 7th inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 32nd of the season) in the 9th inning.

DEC 12 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

At Tropicana Field, the Buffalo fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Freddy Garcia (6-13) finally bested his Fastball opposite, Johan Santana(16-11), 1 to 0. Jose Reyes cracked a first inning home run for the games only tally. Stud closer Billy Wagner got the save, his 41st. Santana was the tough luck loser, going 8 innings and giving up only 2 hits and no walks.

DEC 13 - "B.Y.O.B. NIGHTLY HIGHLIGHTLY"

Miguel Cabrera smashed 2 grand slam home runs and Nate Robertson mowed down 10 Ottawa batters and as the East Granby Oh7's Oh8's man-handled the Ottawa Heathens 20 to 6. Cabrera enjoyed a great day at the plate. He banged out a single in the 2nd inning, delivered a base-hit in the 6th inning, launched a rocket shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the 8th inning and quieted the crowd by clouting another Grand Slam (his 27th HR of the season) in the 9th inning. Heathens G.M. AT said, "Cabrera looked like Fernando Tatis out there today. I'm surprised our pitchers made him wait another inning to hit his 2nd grand salami!"
