Mike Kilkenny

Following up on the earlier post re. Mike Kilkenny.

I had Kilkenny on my first '69 team (home stadium - Dodger Stadium). His final stats were W/L record of 9-11, with 2 saves. He had an E.R.A. of 3.61 with a WHIP of 1.37. Only 138 hits allowed in 177 innings, but that was offset by the 105 walks he issued.

In my second league, Kilkenny was dropped mid-season by another team in the league. I wasn't able to bring up his final stats.

If you're going to be playing a lot in pitchers' parks where not too many homeruns are going to occur, Kilkenny will probably be an effective pitcher. However, because of the walks he issues, there will likely be runners on base anytime he gives up a gopher ball, so I wouldn't want him pitching in a batter friendly ball park.

Just my $0.02. Good luck with your team.

ok, I think I'm as set as I can be. Thanks all so much for all your help. Hopefully my 1st 1969 season is a good one!
