Hold ratings

Hold ratings

Four out of my five relief pitchers have awful + hold ratings. Does this really matter or do I have to get rid of one or two of them even though I want the guys I have?

All depends on your catcher(s) throwing arm. The better their arms the less hold rating you need. Look at my team. Since my starting catcher is a (+1) I went for hold ratings for my starters, except for Randy but you have to get on 1st to steal. Since I hate giving up a steal late in the game my def catcher is a (-2) and my current closers all have - holds. The three middle reliefers, 2 are + holds including a +9 on a lefty  and my other swing man is a +0. In your case both of your catchers have 0 throwing arms so you want reliefers with hold ratings. If I am looking at the right team why are you wasting so much on starting pitchers? 5 * pitchers plus 1 per starter who you might as well drop. Feel free to pitch Cotts against me when ever you want.

I would keep Gordon with his - 4 hold.

Thanks for the advice seein' as you are in my league. I'm gonna keep Gordon. I will probably refrain from using certain pitchers against you. :D

My reasoning behind my starters was Milton is cheap and good in Petco. Bonderman has the strikeouts. Robertson is ok and I like him and I thought I could use him in the bullpen when necessary. So I thought I could put either of them in depending on need.

Might want tp pick up Blanco if he is still there for a def catcher.
