2nd Annual Las Vegas Tournament--chat, signup list, etc...

Someone suggested to have the tournament at my home....lol,lol Just what we need is Bogdan and Jenya around a lot of laptops.....even Jonny can be a little dangerous plus he'll want to play. lol. I wish that I can find a magically weekend that all of you can come but it probably won't happen. I do not any updates yet. As for questions about the format, I will form a small committee and then we can determine the actual format as one of the tasks. Last time we used a master laptop and 6-7 other laptops connected to the master. Doug (penngray) did a great job of organizing this part of the event. We had a large vido screen to display games, standings, stats etc.. We even had large TVs with baseball DVDs operating as managers were waiting to play their games. I think the beer at 9am and food helped too....lol The head to head matchups were set up after the first day of playing the strat games. The next day's matchups started to eliminate people so we eventually got to a championship game. We did ess up a little with the timing schedule and some of the matches became one game elimination as opposed to best of three games. Everyone did participate in both days of the event and that format will not change. We may have the luxury of getting TSN to assist a better format for the tournament and that would be another task of the committee. Give me a little time to spell out the goals of the committee and then see who wants to help. I will break down the committee to tasks and ask for volunteers. Like last time, we will be ready to play the games when here in Las Vegas.... Infact, there was a face-to-face live draft for a future league on the site for individuals that were eliminated earlier.... It'll be fun....Bobby

How far from the proposed sites is the Star Trek Experience place?
Tempted to try and combine both in to a vacation.
How feasible would it be to stay somewhere cheaper on outskirts and drive in to event site? Understand that involves cost of a rental car but going to have that no matter where I stay. Gotta have wheels. :D

What do we need to bring with us other than normal vacation stuff? Would we need to bring our own cards for the face to face games?

Star Trek Experience is at the Las Vegas Hilton....15 minute ride from The Orleans and 20 minutes from The South Coast....these are estimates and not travelling on the strip....If you travel on the Las Vegas strip to the LV Hilton then enjoy the scenery because you will have lots of time waiting in the traffic jams....... As for other hotel rates away from the event, let me nail down the location of the event and then I will give you some options to pick from other than the location. Bobby
