McGee or Stanley

McGee or Stanley

Postby bkeat23 » Fri Jan 06, 2006 3:27 pm

Any experience with these guys in Forbes?
NY27, Busch, and Ebbets in division, so a fair spread of parks.

Impressions of McGee is unbreakable, runs better, sw hitter 0 arm
Stanley -2 arm, no errors

Very slight clutch towards McGee.

Doesn't look like either one hits much. They'd be in the 7 spot ahead of no-hit catchers.

Thanks.

Ohhhh if I could only pry him away.....I've tried. I'd rather the no hit great arm cheap option.
Thanks.

I've used both of them once or twice when Geronimo wasn't available. Both were OK for the money. If I was going to use one, I wouldn't want him batting 7th. I'd get a catcher who could hit a little so the CF could bat 8th.

Dempsey and Roseboro hit a little.....very little

It's $60M....Have had Carter, which puts the 1b position into the cheap range and the 8 spot. Like a Driessen/Dahlgren combo.

Munich Man did very well with Stanley on his all pitch no-hit team. It was 80 million and spent 60 million on pitching in an autodraft league. Stanley was his CF and did well, his team won over 90 games. I would use him.

I used Stanley as the CF on a championship team in Riverfront. He didn't hit much, but he didn't need to with Yount, Eddie Collins, Cooper, Carter, Cobb and Dusty Baker tearing it up.

With $60M, that would be a good lineup

Gehringer
Ozzie
Cuyler
Shoeless
CJones
Rose
McGee
Dempsey/RoseBoro

Will hit Jones 4 vs LH in away parks.
