Is there any interest in an 80s auction league?

At what point can we start discussing trades? Does that have to happen AFTER the autodraft?

Any chance we can change the expiration clock to 12 hours? If we have to wait 24 hours between bids, we'll still be waiting a week from now.

I have to admit I did the last minute bid thing, today. Sorry BJS.....................not! :)

Method to the Madness

BC: You're a good guy. Sorry for the frustration again. Now that we're really close to the end game of the auction, I'll share the meaning of the madness here a little bit about Randolph.

I'd been waiting like crazy to put the money in to make the big moves I had been planning. Problem was that the expiration times for the players were causing me difficulties. I'd been eyeballing Randolph all day at work and he was a part of plan C for me in case plan A or B didn't pan out. I really wanted someone else to dive in and send Randolph down the list (Hmmm. Penn comes to mind here, wonder why? LOL) because I didn't want to commit the bucks to do it.

So, I watched and waited cause I wanted someone else to do it so that I could conserve cash but it never happened. So, I went ahead and did it myself at the last minute.

I'm glad you realize that it wasn't a vendetta or something. 8)

[quote:887f5db456]BJ started it with his bid on Trammell. (Nicely done with the math, couldn't match it with a CF too.) As the cliche goes, stuff rolls downhill, and we'll see what Sykes does with his extra $21.5. Just hope that I'm not at the bottom of the hill when that happens.[/quote:887f5db456]

Toi San: You really managed your entire draft well and got many good deals as a result. Very cunning. Congrats.

45 million to get Trammell when Yount was won at 35 million is not good strategy on my behalf.

Love the auction draft format though. Very fun indeed. Good bunch of guys here.

No need to explain, BJ. Like I said, I saw the wisdom in returning the favour today, and it wasn't for revenge. I needed to keep Randolph alive, in case I didn't get Herr. Now that I got Herr I don't need Willie. But I'll take him if no one outbids me.

LOL. I did that to Sean the other day with the Gwynn/E. Davis fiasco.

Well, to make a long story short, I had E. Davis but he was expiring first and Martin had Gwynn but didn't expire for another hour or so. Since he was really hot for both those guys throughout, I panicked at the last minute and gave Gwynn "a protection bid" since I didn't want to lose both guys.

It's a good thing that Sean's a forgiving guy.

Smith at 40 and I got Ripken at 21. Sounds a little screwy to me.

you got lucky...missed upping the bid on ripken by seconds. Somebody bumped my bid on Trammell or Yount at the last minute before Ripken expired, and I was short of cash at the time.

Remember this because I almost bid 30 million on Billy Ripken. That would've been bad.
