First quasi-masher team in awhile

Hey folks. Playing in Yankee '27. I think Ive got enough offense on this team to do OK both at home AND in pitcher parks. Just looking for some feedback on it, especially as it regards the pitching staff. Its my first 100M team, so Im interested to hearing you rockstars poke holes in it.

Your staff looks fine, not sure I like your offense that much. A bit too RH, although your BPHRs vs LHs is a bit low. The team is too slow (about a 13 average) and your OBP is too low. I believe the good RHs like Scott, Clemens, Garcia and Seaver will give you problems.

I assume its a DH league, my guess is you will get outslugged.

OBP vs RHs = .392
OPS vs RHs = .885
HR RAte vs RHs = 4.0
BPHRs vs RH = 57

OBP vs LHs = .417
OPS vs LHs = .900
HR RAte vs RHs = 3.2
BPHRs vs RH = 41

I see one other MAJOR issue MAJOR ( ), that's your injuries. Your team has 6 starters that are 15 game injury risks, you're gonna spend a lot of time on the DL.

Also, agree that you are waaaaay to right handed. Find some lefty bats for that lineup. (available lefties include: Stargell, Boggs, McCosky, Strawberry, Oliva)

Del Ennis would hit a ton in that park if you had a few lefty bats to offset him.

If it is a DH league (or maybe even if not), pick up Covington.

Winter, Leever & Vuckovich could be used to get some $$$$ if need be.

Guys,

Thanks for your input so far. I know injuries were going to be a risk, which is why I got what I thought were pretty solid backups. As for being too right-handed, I have 3 LH bats in my lineup right now: Charlie Keller (leadoff), May, and Cooper. I see your point about Covington, but the only position he isnt a defensive liability is DH, and I was planning on hitting Rosen in the 2-spot. I can make the money work, but I dont want to replace Keller in LF and I dont really have a clearcut #2 hitter if I replace Rosen.

SO...what I did was, upgrade one of my SP, pickup a guy to gobble up innings in the pen, and change Davenport into a Nettles/Ron Cey platoon. that gives me 4 LH bats in the lineup (at least against RHP), and cuts down on injury risk. The platoon's numbers are actually better than Davenports numbers from each side collectively.
