In picking injury-risk Eddie Collins I said "what the hey"... I use Collins a lot, so I don't fear the injury as much as many to begin with I guess. It was between Collins and Lajoie, and I figured I'd benefit more from the extra times on base ahead that Collins provides ahead of my sluggers (Mays, Haller, McCovey, Cepeda, and Alou) than I would from a less injury prone version. Of course if Joe Morgan were still out there, it'd have been different.
Chuck Hiller (SF's 62 2B I was stuck with) looks a lot better as an injury backup, with his 3e32 defense, than he did as my starting 2B
I'm excited to have Koufax in Candlestick, he could do great there, I hope that I'll be able to win a lot of 2-0 games at home with SKoufax pitching (McCovey solo HR's off his card!) We'll see, though.
Watching other teams unfold has been fun- always good to see new strategies in play, I'd say everyone's made good picks so far :)
