Does Fregosi just SUCK ?

Our historical single season sets

He's killing me

Postby TomSiebert » Mon Jan 09, 2006 11:50 am

Just past the halfway mark...

Fregosi, Jim R SS 2e21 326 28 10 2 27 45 3 11 .230 .298 .320 1R

He's also blown a couple games with key errors. This guy has got to be one of the biggest dogs in the set...my 2nd round draft pick, wasted completely, and of course there's nobody left to replace him.

Mike Andrews ain't much better:

Andrews, Mike R 2B 2e26 308 39 9 3 39 41 0 13 .240 .331 .327 2R

$11.5MM of my salary spent on what I thought was a strong IF, and they're the ball and chain on my incredibly underperforming team, not to mention the similarly pathetic dud Ed Kirkpatrick, who's only playing against RH pitching with his 8R, LH bat.:

Kirkpatrick, Ed L RF 3(0)e2 223 27 6 7 31 18 2 1 .242 .399 .299 8R

Yeah, I got half a season left, but this team has just felt like snakebit from the beginning, and trolling these chat boards reads like I picked every lemon in the lot. Very frustrating....

Kirkpatrick's usually a lot better than that when platooned; I bet you'll see him come around.

I've got Fregosi stinking it up for me too (though he's got lots of company) -- got stuck with him in the autodraft, and had no decent alternative. I've moved him from 7th to leadoff, and he's actually improved a bit to reach the current numbers:

On the other hand, is anybody else getting nice numbers from Kubiak? I've had him hit a respectable .250, 60 rbi in the 8 hole on a couple teams. Plus he's got the best SS glove in the game. He and Helms make a very decent middle infield for two bucks.

WOW, MoCrash! Those are by far the best numbers I've seen for Fregosi....

What park were you playing in? I noticed he still couldn't reach his real-life HR totals....

Shibe Park. Good for RH singles hitters.

Fregosi is underperforming somewhat on my team. He's hitting his average but he's hit only 11 homers in a home run park. But I'm satisfied overall because he's a 2 at short and his doing fairly well in helping Morgan, the lead-off hitter, score over 100 runs.

Season done. Team finished last.

Fregosi ended up having a mediocre season at the plate in Busch:

Fregosi, J. 589 69 20 6 62 81 5 23 .243 .335 .331

Even with the 23 errors, he was still runner-up for the gold glove! Go figure that one out!

Never really worked as my leadoff guy, did okay after I dropped him to the 9th spot, despite the choke rating.

Team sucked throughout the season, finished 9 out, last place, almost the worst record in the league.
