I have a question after game 81 you can pick up a player who is a FA as long as he has played at least 1 game with that team right so far? Does anyone know of a good sight for this research of players?

fluffy & I have discussed moving the cup of coffee game date back to somehwr around the 11-120 game mark, so those players won't have too much of an impact on the franchises, but still provide some extra interest. To research the players, I go to Baseball-reference.com
You can type the player's full name into the search feature in the top right corner and it will list his career stats. You can also search by teams.....................

I think bob has a different source that he uses, but the info is the same

Yes, managers may draft at will but there is no clock and it is expected that some managers will not be available and I wanted the fun to research until Tuesday's official start.

Since everyone will use Franchises once it may not be as important to managers what order they do use them but there is a lot of fun in researching so take the time if you need it.


I use a reference source " THE TEAM BY TEAM ENCYCLOPEDIA of MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL" by DENNIS PURDY

There is quite a bit of identical data in baseballreference.com but I use that source for individual games played in seasons as well as for a quite review of career stats.

However, the reference I use for history of teams and their significant players as well as for the efficient way of looking at each team is the reference stated above. It can be bought at Barnes and Noble for $14.95 or over the internet.

The write ups on each team include a chart giving by every season starters by position, record book by career and by season and the one area that it deals with a lot better than baseballreference.com is the individual section called Significant Players.

I still need confirmation on the free agents after game 81 or 120 which ever it is any player you pick up had to have played at least 1 game with your franchise during his career right? I ask this as I see George Brett is not on a team and if just anyone was able to pick him up at the halfway point it really could have an impact on the race although he played his whole career as a Royal. P.S. the Tigers could really use a third baseman.

Ball Parks - Do we need to use a park from one of the franchises which are part of your team, or are all parks available?
