Altec1969,

Where do you find the time/money to have so many teams.

What is amazing is how competitive Altec's teams are. I've found myself loosing in the playoffs or finals several times against them

My game theory on cheaper play in the Stratoverse

He has a point about the stockpile of credits. Winning leads to lower costs in this game. Here's what I do but on a smaller scale. Find an older card set you are good at that offers a 5 pack for $50 (mine is 2005). Play at least 2 teams of this season at any given time. The role of this is to make the playoffs. Usually I'll stick with one or two stadiums that I've grown accustomed to using players that you know that work. The goal as always is to make the playoffs. This will increase your chances since you are always using similar strategies. It also cuts out some of the guesswork and therefore less time each day to check on.

Now here is the kicker. Any credits you win go to any of the $25/team games like 2007, 1969, ATG or the mystery card games of 70's and 80's. Using this strategy I have yet to pay for 2007 and have played about 6 teams with 2 credits still lined up to go.

Something also to consider. With 2008 soon to start, save any credits won without redeaming them until the new card set debuts. Within a week after its debut you should be able to go back to the team that won you the credits and click redeem and find 2008 there. However, once you redeem them there is no going back.

Some would say this takes some of the fun out of it but the more you play the better you will get. Anything you learn in the older games will no doubt help once a new set rolls out. At that point its just on you to analyze the new cards.

That takes care of the money side of the question. The time I can't help you with. I work third shift so I have time to check my teams sometimes during slow times. Also being home during the day helps to.

Hope that helps.

As to Altec, I have played in a lot of leagues with him. Whenever he names his team Title Town, he kicks my a_s. Currently he is going with Seawolves in the leagues I am in, and I am holding my own. Though that might be because I am mostly in a different division :) .Unfortunately, I think Title Town may be due back in the name rotation soon........
